man don`t even waste your $$ on one. by the time the air gets in the tank, it`s warm to hot. Once it starts to cool it`ll condensate inside. (if I`m wrong on that someone correct me. I`m no scientist) but putting it between the comp/tank will do nothing.

generally Speaking if yew wanted to keep all moisture out of the Tank then yes, yew would put it between compressor and tank. I leave that up to each there own. However if yew decide to go like a CO2 setup then yew will really need one so as to not freeze yer lines. But with general tanks and compressors in full time warm climates it not as big of a worry. If yer in a colder climate where the air will go from warm to cold, it will create moisture inside the tank. Its really yer choice, but thats the generals on it.
