I think I have the article. If I do, it's on my laptop. I'm booting it and looking for it now...

Check for a post edit.

I found a picture of a GenOne Ranger convertible with a Mustang Dash....

But no how-to.

Sorry folks.

Just get out there and start removing bolts, figure it out as you go along. :)

That's too hard, everyone I know wants excat sizes of bolts and brackets, and they want you to fly out to install it for htem too. Ohh, and its their daily driver so it has to be done in an hour and everything has to work perfectly. So, when's yours gonna be done?

hahahaa,

And for records sake, there are no installation guides, write ups or manuals for the Mustang dash install. The gen 1 with it is just a magazine article on the truck.

Later Doug904.

first or all there needs to be a mustang dash sticky. so that we dont allways get the same questions about it again and again. second, i dont really know about the other people that has done it, but i wouldnt do it to a daily driver truck again. its way to much work it get it to set right. nothing really fits quite right, a lot of the things are close but still its a lot of tweaking to get it. you have to hack up your panels. the dash blocks the tweaters on my door speakers. i cant get to my fuses with out undoing the dash ( a problum that i just noticed. lol.) still have the stock shifter and finding someone to make one since i dont have a bender has been a pain in my a##! and after all that work no one really notices the dash but they sure do notice the hacked up door panels. heck i cant even roll down my windows without opening the door. and the center consol doesnt sit right on the floor at all! a lot of this stuff isnt noticable if you dont know. it really cool when someone looks at your truck and asks you how the heck you did that. and the when i took it to the dealer to get the alarm fixed the thought it was the coolest ranger they had seen, they must not get out much, lol. so even with all the problums ill keep mine. i think that ill just pull it and do it over again.

Well Scuba, let me tell you I appreciate all your help. and your truck looks sweet man!
I will do a tech article when I install it, but with the 2.3T swap, and getting the truck painted AND doing a frame up custom job, it ain't gonna be anytime soon, maybe around 12-18 months I'm hoping

hey, do you have a guage cluster for your dash yet?

ive got a stang dash in pieces in my parents back yard that im not sure if im ever going to get around to installing and ive got a good cluster out of a 96 v6 stang i believe it was, its just been sitting on the shelf since i bought it.

if your looking for a dash from a v6 stang id possibly part with mine since i dont see the stang dash anytime soon in the future of my truck.

what truck are you putting it in then? your 92?

hey jaygecko, i know that you offered it to pickupman but if he dont take you up on it, what color? any damage? how much would you want for it and could you take it appart so that only the shell and cluster has to be shipped? not 100% sure yet that i could do it but maybe we could work out something.

well my goal is to get the Bullitt or Mach1 gauge cluster, I am simply in love with the throback style gauges, they jsut look sic!

http://www.mustangweekly.com/2001/september/bullitt/gauges.jpg

it's going in the 92, I appreciate the offer, but I really want those, I haven't seen anyone make a custom overlay yet either, but I'm sure it could be done, I jsut want the orignal. I'm not sure how I'm gonna do the odometer with digtial, I might just have to get an overlay. Well it's not going i nthe Ranger anytime soon, around 12-18 months away, I still got a lot of bosy work to do and primering left. anyone ever change their sqaure fuel door cap to a round one from a stang? I want the billet cover, but I wnat a round one.... I know I'm picky, but she only deserves the best!
