It's an SLP Thunderbolt Valence. I still have to get the side skirts and roll pan painted (pictures of them are in another post in the Exterior board), and order the exhaust for Christmas.

She wanted the thunderbolt so bad, but couldn't afford it, so she really loves the valence. She has no idea I bought her the side skirts et al.

:thumbup: it looks nice. i like it. it reminds me of the key stone bumper cover.

I think It's sweet that your girl is into trucks as much as you are. It makes doing what you like so much more enjoyable.

The kit ran me 400 bucks, 100 bucks for the roll pan, and another 100 for shipping. The valence came painted, but I need to get the other stuff painted too.

Oh, one other thing, it looks like the bumber could use alittle lift, There looks to be a bigger gap then normal.

She wants to get a 2/3 lowering kit, but she can't afford to lose the warranty, so after her warranty is up, she's going to get the lowering.

The gap is due to the fact that her bumper is slightly warped from a fender bender she had 8 months ago. It is very close to being straight, but it is definately a little warped. I came to this conclusion when I pushed the bumper up as far as it would go and one side was right up against the fender, and the other was way down.

Damn I want to do that to my truck... I don't think I have to worry about shipping, I wonder if I can pick it up since it's only about an hour from my house (the company that makes em') That looks bad ass man... I wish I had a girl like that, or a girl period lol... Nice man really nice though... It's only the valance too and it uses the 4x2 bumper it looks like...

Damn bro, it makes me think that I should have waited, it looks BADASS!!!!!! I see it utilizes the 2wd upper too, thats a plus. Can't wait to see the body kit installed!!!!

if you get the SLP lowering kit put on by an "autherised" SLP installer (usually a Ford Dealer) it will keep teh warranty.

I just called SLP and ordered it. They were very helpful. I posted about it in in the Exterior Forum under SLP Parts or something like that. I have the number to order the Thunderbolt parts in there too.

They only released the parts to non-SLP owners in the last 6 months or so. They've been running this promotion (400 for the whole kit minus the roll pan) for a few months. I think it's because Ford already redesigned the Ranger's front end, and it doesn't look like the valence will bolt right on to the current bumper, etc.

Mightygreenrang is one of my best friends, hes the one who convinced me to get the ranger i have now and anytime i need help hes the first one i go to because he knows his shhhhh...tufff. I recently took pictures of mine and his rangers together and as soon as they come in ill post em up.

Its nice having a woman into the sport!

Should have tapped into this eairlier, with everyone taking about me and ssshhh......tuff:) . It looks good bro, the front valence looks alot better for the 01+'s than the 98-00's.

havin a girl who is in to cars has got to be one of the best things in life, lol, even tho she's a camaro driver and hates fords, it's all good, got to compromise, plus she's cool with the Ranger, ahhhhhhhhhh life is good

it also helps that my ride is faster than hers :E

Holy crap, this is an OLD thread!

On a side note, my g/f no longer owns this truck. Her sister now has it. My g/f got a 2003 Saturn Vue, burnt orange with a 4 cylinder. We're just planning a system for it right now, but we may put the redline body kit on it with a 1" drop. She needed something that did not suck gas like her 4.0L. My girl was really upset driving it back home for the last time to give it to her sister. But she's happy to have something with more room (our dogs are horrible in a Ranger) and to have close to 30 mpg on the highway (almost double her Ranger's mpg). I'll post pics when we get something worth showing, aka not stock.

a little update 3 years later, that same camaro now sports 18" C5 wheels, rear disc conversion, 3.42 gears, posi, 1LE sway bars, clears, grill, K&N intake, B&M shift kit, magnaflow cat, dynomax duals, ported/polished throttle body and other goodies....thanks to yours truely

and also she has started drag racing, a SBC S-10.....my girl kicks ass

she's given me a lot for my mustang too, headlights, tach, pod, cowl hood etc etc

its on though, we are both puttin new motors in our trucks over the winter and will be in the same class at the track we go to....V8 S-10 vs 2.3T Splash

spngr's girl friend doesn't even have the truck anymore.

And here I was feeling all nostalgic with all the former and current club members.... :-(
