Just wondering what your opinions are on a 3 inch body lift with the stock tires?? I just bought a 2003 2wd Ranger edge, and was wondering if you think that would look stupid??? If so, what size tires do you recommend I can't afford rims right now so I need a tire size that will fit the stock wheels, thanks in advance...

It might look a little goofy if it wasnt a edge but it'll look pretty good. If you got 15 or 16x7 rims you could fit some 32x11.5's on there and look real nice.

It not too hard to do, when i installed mine on my 96' i had to use a 2-3' breaker bar to get the cab/bed bolts out that was the cab was the hardest part, the bumper brackets, and other mods with the kit are pretty easy.

this ought to give you an idea of whats involved.

Yeah and give yourself lots of time. I actually reccommend just cutting the heads off of the cab bolts and propane torching the remainding threaded piece, and un-threading it with a vice and a set of visegrips. I got the cab bolts out faster that way than actually unthreading it the regular old way(breakerbar and socket wrench)

it takes about eight hours. i have done so many body lifts. and none of them were on my own truck.

How much do you think a shop would charge to install something like that for me?

on a 03 should not have a problem at all. wd40 all the bolts the night before.

Shops tend to charge anywhere between 400-500 $$. Personally, having done the lift, I definately do not think it is worth paying $400.00 for someone else to do it for you. If I found someone who would do it for around $200.00 then maybe I'd consider forking over the money.

And for the record it took me about 3 days to do the entire lift by myself. I'm not sure how you guys are getting 8 hours(I guess you got air tools and lots of tool savy friends), but with 2 hands, a Dremel w/ cut-off wheel, socket set/breaker bar, propane torch, and a regular floor jack it took some time and lots of cursing.

took me 18 hours by my self. I agree about the cussing. The bolts are all tighter than hell. I had a 3 foot cheater pipe and was sweating like a mad man. The bad thing is is was only 35 degrees outside. Make sure you have plenty of time and I recommend BP Blaster to soak the bolts.

It took me and two friends 6 hours. This isn't really an involved process.... you are taking out 12 bolts, putting in spacers, and putting bolts back through them. Not really rocket science. Have a sawzall and a breaker bar handy. Air tools would have helped/ made things go quicker, but I didn't have any to use.

i just did mine this weekend. Make sure to heat up the four cab bolts and they come right out. I didnt do that to the first one and it snapped and got stuck inside the bushing. Just follow the directions and it's pretty easy. The lower radiator mounts were kinda a pain in the ass cause there was a lip sticking out right where they go so i had to bend them a little with a hammer.

It dosen't look too bad with the stock tires. But it will look better when i get the 31's.
