last week I had to go mow out at my lake house and so I went out to my truck and loaded up the line trimmer and mowers and tied them up...the handle was sticking up and over the driverside bed-rail...so then I got in my truck and started backing out of the garage. As soon as my foot hit the gas *thump* the mower-handle caught on the doorway of the garage and hit the back of my cab and put a nice little dent in it. I was sooo pissed, but later while I was mowing, I started laughing, thinking of the National Lampoon's Vacation movie where he loads up the car in the garage and backs out and everything on the roofrack catches. :) my first idiot mark on this truck.

wyldkard2199, well i was in my garage w/ my hood up, cause my battery was dead and we were jumping it. we got it started, and i decided to back up w/ my hood still up. the metal hinge on the garage door opener had a nice little meeting w/ my hood that day. :)

I have a friend who's Explorer tranny lost reverse and 1st gear at one point. It was alot of fun. His little brother gave us the code to get in it, and he would leave the keys in it. We would park it in the back row of the parking lot and he would have to push it out of the spot.

I feel for you.. I actually got hit there buy someother person and that spot isn't the easiest to get right.. The curve doesn't play nice with the body shop guys..

Hey you need 00 tails.. I got mine from mrtailight.com and they arrived at the door within a week.. I know Ryanerb had problems with them but I had no problems.. Arrived well packaged.. Outter box was screwed up but the stuff that counted nothing was wrong with them..

Plus they are only $20 pluss shipping..

thanks for the suggestion, i only need the 1 tail light ill have to see if they sell singles, also i know its a horrible spot, couple people say "oh it just give me a sanding block and it would be out, i dont know what im gunna do about this spot, a coworker i work with got a dent under his tail light in his older 150, and he used a screw device to try to get his out, well now it looked liek a beehive and then he just covered it up with bondo and spray paint it white (the truck is white) i dont know yet i have to think about what i want to do

My truck has the same dent under the drivers side tail light. Some body backed into it with their tailgate down, perfectly smooth curved dent, and I have no idea on how to get rid of it.

My idiot mark is on the side of my bed, I was carring a dirt bike and my drop in bed liner was slick, I was trying to strap the bike down and the bike fell over, when I tried to pick it up.....Scrape, it sucks. So now the liner is out and I don't haul anything with less than 3 wheels in my bed.

I don't have an "idiot mark" on my truck (anymore), but thanks to being careless I can say when I finally shave my doors, I won't need door poppers. :)

Where I used to live I cut a section of the privacy fence and made a giant gate out of it that swung open in one piece, to gain access to my backyard where I kept my jetski.

One day I was backing my truck through the gate. I wasnt even thinking about it and had the truck door open. A breeze blew the gate towards the truck which resulted in the gate catching the door and forcing it towards the front of the truck - I was backing up looking through the rear window so I hadn't seen where the gate was up until this point.

It actually bent the hinge mount on the door a little bit.. just enough that you have to slam the door to close it, and whenever you pop the latch it springs open on its own.
The front edge of the door was also slammed against the inside of the door jamb when it was forced open, thus buckling the door skin putting a dent in it.

Luckily when I shaved the bodylines, the heating/shrinking from welding the metal made that dent pop itsself out.

lol. it never even came to me, but i have that exact dent, a little smaller in the same place. its smooth tho, no paint chips. it was there when i bought the truck (used with 8k) i think it got hit by a bus or something... i doubt you can see it in this pic but i will put it here anyway for some odd reason...
