I have a 93 Ranger with a 5 speed manual, and a 3.0 V6. The only things that I have done to it is add a tonneau cover and get a cat-back exhaust (2.75 inch pipes and 3 inch mufflers). I have finally decided to lift the truck up. I am getting the 6"(5.5 really) lift from Superlift. They are going to install it for me(gotta love connections, no charge), but I don't know what size tires to put on it. I am going to have to do about a 2 hour drive back on the original tires, is that okay? Like I said first time for everything. Any advice on this lift and anything involved (tire size, temp. driving, etc.) would be greatly appreciated. Please help soon.

What gears do you have? 33's would be good with your setup, but with a 3.0 and anything less than 3.73's your truck is going to struggle.

If it is a 2wd, I believe the proper gears you should get are 4.30s. If it is a 4wd, you should go ahead and get 4.56 gears to run 33s, that way it won't hurt if you want to run bigger tires later.

I'd go with 33's either way and if youre driving on the stocks just be careful and dont take the corners too fast until you get some bigger meats on.

Why? Larger tires may be wider, but with aggressive off-road tread, they provide less on-road traction than OE Wranglers...
