Ok i have stared a new ranger and im going to be lowering it soon i dont want to go through the trouble of getting new ibeams and putting them in. so with the front im just useing drop coils 2''. but the back i have a question about i know it has to be fliped but my questions is what is the difference between getting a "flip kit" and just buying a leaf purch and fliping the leafs that way. that is how i did my first ranger and had no problem. i was wondering what comes with a flip kit and if i really need to get one or just do what i did to the other one again.

a leaf purch? never heard of it... flipping the leafs is easy and cheap... the flip kit is a set of two bent up brackets to hold the axle aligned with the spring... simple as that... moves the axle from the top of the leafs to the bottom

Go with a flip kit. Quick, easy, and simple.

A flip kit consists of the two flip brackets and nothing more. Bell tech sends you a c-notch with there flip kits, but you could get a diff kit and buy a c notch seperately for cheaper. If what you aer talking about is welding new leaf perches on below the axle, the Explorers already come like this so it's definitely not a bad idea if you can do it.
There was a thread in the lowered archives about it but apparantly the archives aer now flooded with useless crap.

when your flipping the leaf spring on top of the axle, do you just bend it to the side until it can clear over it or do you take off a spring, then put it back on top and assemble it?

u dont put the leaf back on top, u put them on the bottom of the axle when u flip it. you could just take out a leaf to lower it a little.
