View Full Version : Biggest tire size ? BrAnDenblaze Nov 19 2003, 08:30am just wanted to know what was the biggest tire size you can get on a 2000 offroad 4x4 without rubbing on 16s? :cussing: and dont say search i tried and the site is pulling up nothing:( bluranger Nov 19 2003, 12:01pm It would probably be 31's which is something like 265/75 in a 16" rim EdgeR6 Nov 19 2003, 10:59pm 265/75/16 is almost a 32 inch tire. You can git a 285/75/16 with minor rubbing in the front. BrAnDenblaze Nov 20 2003, 02:47am thanx fellows im going to order some now:) myndfi3ld Nov 27 2003, 11:33pm Originally posted by EdgeRanger 265/75/16 is almost a 32 inch tire. You can git a 285/75/16 with minor rubbing in the front. isn't that the oem size with the 16s? 98infinity Dec 01 2003, 02:32pm No its a 31 inch or a 235/75 correct me if im wrong Nfuriate Dec 01 2003, 11:27pm 235/75 is about a 28. that's stock and what i had with my 15's, but so is 245 which is about a 30. that's what comes with 16's. fx4's come with 31's. i'm running 265's and i have no rubbing problems. 285's will fit, but there might be rubbing issues at full turn or big bumps. There was an edge posted with 35's on stock suspension with bigger bump stops. 98infinity Dec 02 2003, 11:36am I dont think 31's will rub, atleast not in the back but the front your could use coil spacers pre 98 or torque the bars on a 98 + muddyrededge Dec 04 2003, 11:52am 235/75 is a 29 inch tire PowerRanger92 Dec 06 2003, 11:10pm 265/75/16 is a 31 i thought. I run 265/75/15 on my 2wd xlt. DesertSpive Dec 07 2003, 04:53am On a 4x4, 31s won't rub. A 285/75 16 will need a slight amount of trimming, and removal of the front flaps, but it is totally doable. A 33x10.5 R15 will also fit without much rubbing (once again, removal of the front flaps should cure it). --Sean 98infinity Dec 07 2003, 08:15am A 33x10.5 R15 will also fit without much rubbing (once again, removal of the front flaps should cure it). So your saying I can get 33 inch tires on my 98 ranger? stock no lift? or what im confused! ANd by flaps you mean mud flaps right? DownSouthTAS Dec 08 2003, 01:25am Once again in plain english: On 98+ 4x4 Rangers, you can fit 33x10.50s with little to no rubbing 285/75r16 with minor rubbing 31x10.50 or 265/75r16 with no rubbing 98infinity Dec 08 2003, 12:39pm You have got to be kidding right? How wide can then be? Would it be smart to torque the bars in the front? and maybe add a leaf in the rear? if I coulds get 33 right now that would ****en be the ****!!!!!! Ranger Rover Dec 09 2003, 02:16pm You can fit them as long as it's 10.5" wide... you can search www.offroadrangers.com/forum for more info, a few people have this setup on the board. I didn't think they made those in 98 98infinity Dec 10 2003, 07:40am Yeah its the first gen of 98's, cuz theres no third door thingy...or maybe its the options I donno but thats what to dude told me when I bought it DesertSpive Dec 11 2003, 08:16am Originally posted by 98infinity Yeah its the first gen of 98's, cuz theres no third door thingy...or maybe its the options I donno but thats what to dude told me when I bought it Actually the Splash was a model from '93-'97. Yours isn't technically a splash, but a 4x4 with the flareside bed, which became an independant option in '98. --Sean 98infinity Dec 11 2003, 08:53am I think you might be incorect because...the vin even had the splash in it because it came up in an insurance problem I just had |
