ok heres the delimma. im in the process of putting mechanical gauges in the truck. so my factory gauges were for a 6 cyl...and they werent taking to nicely to the v8. so ive gotten water temp, oil psi, and volts hooked up. my speeedometer is on the way, and im gonna have to hook up a new fuel gauge but its gonna have to be electrical, seeing that the truck is still efi. anyhow im gonna eliminate the cluster piece and all and make a panel and put the speedo and fuel and maybe another there.
ok, so i know that the plugs on the back of the cluster have to be plugged in. if the one that has the alternator stuff on it is not hooked up.....then the alternator doesnt charge. so.......the question is, how do i eliminate the cluster piece, and get the connection to still be made so the alternator will charge?
does that make sense or do i need to re-explain?
