I'm fixing to send my truck to the ground but i've got a problem when i lowered my truck 5/7 with the djm kit they threw in a c-notch and the guys who installed it welded it up pretty good, i was wanting to know how hard it would be to replace that baby notch with a bigger one to give my axle room? thanks for the help,

oooh... I dunno.
How big a c notch is it?
Since you actually cut a good size section out, you may be able to weld a new step notch in over that one. Probably need the dimensions for one first to see if its even possible.

it's the baby notch that comes with the djm kits...i think it's the smallest notch they sell

DJM puts a bolt on notch with their kits....the installers probably decided to weld it as well as bolt it to get some xtra strength
i guess just unbolt the notch first, then torch off the welds for the notch if u can....then just weld on the new notch

You have a picture of it so we could see what you should remove first? Like an outside and inside frame picture of where they welded.

you could die grind all the welds off and then hack and pry with a chisel to get it off. I had to do that on a few. Or you could just cut off your rear frame and build a new frame section:)!!!!!

You should be able to drop in a bridge right into the back side of the frame. Most people, like you see in Mini Truckin' tack in the side plates first then cut the tops and bottoms to fit but unless you boxed in your frame, we can't really do that with ours. I know the frame on my '94 is c-shaped, soooo, what I'm doing, and what others have done, is build your notch ahead of time then figure out placement, mark the rails and cut off the upper portion so that it is l-shaped....THEN drop the bridge in and weld it up....THEN cut out the center section, u'll have a little of the DJM notch left but other than not looking awesome it shouldn't cause any problems.
