View Full Version : Control Arms
Texan Nov 27 2003, 04:05pm It's about that time to go lower. I feel the need to start breaking more stuff on my drive way, so I come to all of you for the solution.
I will not stray away from DJM but am looking for a decent DJM retailer. I've used STYLINCONCEPTS for all my other suspension needs, but I know there is someone else out there who is cheaper.
Any suggestions guys?
Hole-Shot Nov 27 2003, 10:18pm Yea, there's a thread about the DJM control arms bending at the ball joints. I do not know if there has been a solution to the problem, but buyer beware.
ForEvrGrounded Nov 27 2003, 11:40pm my arms are almost 5 years old and i've hit animals, craters (big potholes), accidentally went off roading on a few occasions, gotten sideways, run up over curbs....all kindsa stuff and they've treated me nice so far, but my arms are so old that they pre-date the raised sway bar end link mounts.....maybe they were made stronger then? I've had both chassis tech and DJM parts and both are good stuff, but I wont order again from chassis tech or AIM just cause their customer service sucks the big one, and if you are really interested in finding control arms you always see a few guys selling them on the for-sale boards and i happen to know a guy that wants to get rid of his 4/5 kit, if you want to you can PM me and i'll see if i can get ahold of him for ya

Texan Nov 28 2003, 09:19am My only problem with any one else other than DJM is the simple fact that they're amazingly expensive. I couldn't force myself to pay the prices of some parts.
As for used parts, I won't touch used suspension parts. Maybe I'm just a poon, but it would bother the hell out of me.
Spiderman Nov 28 2003, 09:21am Not all the c-arms bend, so you should be ok. As for other dealers, they are gonna be about the same, shipping is the killer with Stylin.

clenzer72 Nov 28 2003, 11:14am godfather is pretty cheap...just make sure there in stock when you order....
ForEvrGrounded Dec 01 2003, 11:19pm I personally have a problem with buying used things too, i dont know who abused that stuff before it got to me and I've already had a few close calls with car accidents, i dont need my **** comin apart while i drive down the road

butter428 Dec 02 2003, 07:07am Godfather is closer to you, so they might be cheaper on shipping. Godfather wanted $140 shipping from Atlanta-Chicago.....I ended up going with Stylin Concepts and paying $40 shipping, I think they're located in Ohio, which was closer for me.
Texan Dec 02 2003, 10:41am DJM's catalog suggests that both arms should be around $225. Stylin sells them for a bit cheaper, so shipping matches it all up.
But yeah dude, Stylin needs to do something with their shipping.
$20.50 for the regular shipping + $10 oversize + $3 insurance ... hell, thats a lot of money.
butter428 Dec 02 2003, 08:28pm do you have any idea how heavy and bulky a drop kit is? Mine came in 5 separate boxes. IMO, $40 isn't bad for all that.
00Rngr Dec 03 2003, 01:05am yes they fixed the problem the are alot more thicker and go to the website ou can read about it and they have the moog style ball joints in them so there yah go just make sure you buy the new ones not the older ones
Mark98XLT Dec 05 2003, 05:41am damn i love living 15 minutes away from styling concepts, its right down the street from my school, hell cops catch kids that skip school and go there! only bad thing is 8% sales tax, i dunno how that evens out for shipping.
