Want to put a set of traction bars on my '99 ranger. Had a set of James Duff bars on my '96. But those will only work up to a '97 I think. Who makes some for my '99 it has a 3.0L:mad:

Will your setup worked on my ranger? It's not lowered or anything. Do you want to sell yours? How much and how old are they?

yes they will work on yours I had them on my 98 for 2 years so about 1800 miles at most. Yes 1,800 miles they never saw any weather.
I will have to see what I paid for them I know they were not cheap.

You might also look at CalTracs. Hard for me to believe that a shock works better than 'any bar' since you never see them at the strip but it could just be me. I might have missed a car or two at the track over the last few months. Track info here (http://www.baronadragstrip.com/forum/index.php)

If you have leaf springs under your truck they will make a set to fit, just call the 800 number and ask.

The James Duff traction bars that mount above the leaf springs will also work on Rangers from 98 and up, with two modifications. The sites below will tell you how to modify and install them. Many of us have done it and it works fine.

yeah but look at the Cal tracs bars in the pic, there under the axle as where the james duff bars go over the axle so what do you do when you have a axle flip like alot of us do, (the links dont tell you that and thats his ? isnt it?). I say CalTracs is the way to go if your axle is above the leafs like in the pic.

James Duff Traction Bars. About $40 shipped.

Note: These bars were installed with a flip kit already installed. Just weld em up! :)

Is this a Ranger specific application? I don't see it listed on their website. How'd you get yours and who'd you have to talk to? I'd love to get a set just like that for my truck.

Wed, just call them and they will fax you a sheet with all the measurements you need to take, then call them back and they will tell you they can do it, lol. I'll dig mine up and post that data if you want but basically they ask for front leaf bolt diameter, bushing diameter, leaf length from mid perch to front mount, wether your axles are flipped or not, shock location and leaf width. You could probably just refence my number but I would measure your just to be safe. Kit comes with the front bracket, the new U-bolt plate, the caltracs bars, hiem joints, aluminum leaf bushings and the nuts to adjust it the bars.
