alright im an s-10 guy. so bear with me. i got a buddie who owns a 98 rander and wants to lay 20's if it were a dime i would have no probs but its not. so what is there to do. i have designed a rear link with a lever atachment. what type of stuff is needed as far a tubbing and relocating. special parts. stuff like that. any links or info would help. and also the way i see some of the panhard bars it seems like they would have a lateral movement when they are all the up and down is there a way around this?

Why not use a triangulated 4 link? That eliminates the need for the panhard.

Anyway....you'll have to relocate the gas tank in the bed, or use a fuel cell. The tank can't be pulled up a few inches like you can on a Dime. The cab floor above the driveshaft will probably need to be raised and boxed in too, but only about the last 12" of the cab.

Other than that, it's pretty much the same, all you'd need to do is step notch it, and put the 4 link on.

Up front, he'll need a raised tranny x-member and DJM upper and lower control arms, and depending on the motor, there's a lot of different stuff in the engine bay to relocate for 20s. Especially watch for the main wiring harness. Of course, the wheel wells will need to come out, the battery has to go, the overflow and wiper juice bottles need to be moved, and there's a lot of crap that needs to be zip tied.

The tranny x-member can be purchased on our "Preferred Vendors" forum, 3rd Shift Kustoms sells them.

i am in process of raising my tank about 1inch and a half on my ex cab 98. i notched the crossmember above it and welded a flat piece on top of it to resupport it.

what about the part of the tank that goes under the cab?

Yeah a bronco2 tank will work, but you have to figure out a way to flush mount it into the bed if you want to make it look decent.

just finished mounting gas tank back up. It is about 1 inch and 1/2 off the ground now. truck is still sitting on the tranny crossmember and the one behind it. I still got to notch the cab though for the driveshaft.
