im thinking of a 2/3 drop to improve handling. i also need new shocks. if i get bilstiens for the stock height, will they work with the drop as well? im thinking of 2" progressive eibach springs. what would be a cheap 3"flip kit for the rear? if i do the stock height bilsteins, and add a rear sway bar, will a 2/3 drop really help handling that much, or will the handling be just fine at stock height. also, which would be better for a non offroading street setup, bilsteins or the monotube eddelbrocks? if i do the drop, id also need a sway bar that would work with the flipped rear. which one would work?

With a 2" drop, I don't think changing the shocks is mandatory by any means. When I lowered mine another 2", and I'm still running stock shocks. If you're looking for a 3" drop in the rear, I'd either look at flipping the hangers (about 2.5"), or maybe drop leafs. Flip kit will lower it five, and then you'll have to put in lift shackles to even it out. What brand of shocks, I don't know. I have heard great things about the bilsteins though. Sway bar, if it'll go on a ranger, it'll work with a lowered ranger.

2" and stock length shocks should be ok.

Lowering will give you a lower cg. I'm not sure off-hand what it will do to your rollcenters...they will drop, but I'm not sure by how much. Stiffer springs should help with any large increase in moment roll.

would there be any performance reduction if i flip the hangars rather than buy a flip kit? also would the back end still sit up higher than the front with the 2 in coils up front? id like it level. thanks!

edit: im also confused as im looking at the eibach kits. i was looking at the eibach truck pro-kit part# 3588.520. it lowers the front end 2". the kit is about $120. there is also the truck hardware systems kit part# 3588.1720. this kit is $150, but i cant find any info on what the heck it is. if it includes the front and rear, i might consider it, but i dont know what it is.

A flip kit will provide for a lower roll center, which, to some extent is a good thing. It is possible to go too low (4" front drop  ) But with a flip you rear roll center won't be dropped so much as to create excessive body roll. So you should actually (IMO) get better performance out of the rear with a flip kit.

you don't need to flip the rear, you can get 2.5 in the back by geting new front shackel mount(leaf springs) for under $100
