View Full Version : SC 3.0 ranger in the new sport truck!!!! racenut Dec 06 2003, 06:22am In the new sport truck, is the SEMA ranger with a WHIPPLE SUPERCHARGED 3.0!! Go take a look at it!!!!!!!!! THANKS racenut:nuts: 3.0 kaos Dec 06 2003, 08:08am cool I'll have to make a trip to town BodyBaggedFord Dec 13 2003, 11:38am I read that article, good bit and a really good lookin truck! I was hoping that the article would be a little longer, good to see a feauture on a Ranger! 3.0 kaos Dec 15 2003, 01:54am A little longer you mean two paragraphs that was a joke to literature. If they hadn't took so many pictures the article would have been less than half a column on half a page. Someone's picture worth a thousand words got abused. Doug904 Dec 15 2003, 03:00am They BARELY made mention of the Whipple kit, a one word line in a setence isn't an adversitement for them. " Here's the whipple now on to the cheesy flames" Later Doug904. 99 Supercab Dec 18 2003, 10:30pm Yet another example of Primedia show no love for the Ranger ! Maybe, but the kit did will an award for best truck performance part or something along those lines. bluedge Dec 19 2003, 08:14am One thing I took notice of in that article was the'brackets to move the Edge's upper and lower control arms up' to allow easy laying crossmember. Sounds like something we Edge guys could use, but then they went on to say that the stock 'coil springs' were replaced with shockwaves. The writers of sporttruck don't seem very knowledgable about things. Edges come with torsion bars not coils. In the same issue, they have an article about a 383 stroker kit that is written pretty bad. The whole article is structured around the formula for finding displacement, and the author doesn't understand it. "pi x radius squared x stroke x # cylinders" was kind of mentioned once, but it was stated as diameter squared and the reasoning behind squaring it was to include the top and bottom of the cylinder.....other articles weren't written much better. I love the pictures, but they need to get some real writers. Back to the ranger, the interior looks pretty nice, but I'm not a fan of the blow-molded looking sub box and amp rack. ~Russell 3.0 kaos Dec 20 2003, 11:38am the sub box looked like an oil pan turned upside down 3.0 kaos Dec 20 2003, 11:39am Oh and did you read the part about them taking only 2 weeks to complete the truck. what have we been waiting on racenut Dec 22 2003, 12:00am I reread it, they made a BO BO. It says it's running BC 19 x 10 rims out back with Nitto 275/35R20s. I didn't know you could mount 20" tires on a 19" rim!!!!!:drunk: bluedge Dec 22 2003, 05:14am Yeah I saw that too. I think if you look closer one of the tire sizes is stated as being a 36 series too :). I guess a 275/36/20 will fit on a 19" rim but not a 35 series......hahahah. ~Russell 99 Supercab Dec 22 2003, 10:00pm Originally posted by racenut I reread it, they made a BO BO.
