meanranger94xl Dec 10 2003, 09:45am just got my 31's on my 94 stock 2wd.
i have 2" coils coming this week.
question is:>>>if i put on 3" blocks on the rear and an additional 2" up front by coil spacers..............will i have any alignment problems or any cables or lines that should be fixed?
slammin99 Dec 10 2003, 10:09am got pix?
DownSouthTAS Dec 10 2003, 12:12pm If you go over 2 inches of lift in the front on 4x4 Beam Rangers, you must get drop brackets for the 'beams. You will probably need longer brake lines...you can determine this yourself by looking at them.
zainyD Dec 11 2003, 04:29am He shouldn't need extended lines with that little lift.
meanranger94xl Dec 11 2003, 06:19am ill get you guys some pics asap....it really raised my truck by putting on the 31's.......i almost tripped while getting out:beer:
rangerxlt92 Dec 19 2003, 10:34am So you're going to put 2" spacers and 2" lift coils in?
quadzjr Dec 20 2003, 01:50pm I have been wanting to put 31"s under my 2wd 94... do the rub ? how bad in the trails? etc...
If you raise the rear more than the front the back of the truck will stick even higher in the air than the front. To level it off you should put more lift in the front. but only two inches extended brake lines are not needed..

meanranger94xl Dec 20 2003, 01:55pm well they will fit your 93-97 2wd....look at my pics....thats complete stock suspension
i have 1 1/2 inch adapters under them and they rub slightly at full turn only on one side (idk why)
and as far as trail riding you need more clearance cause every huge bump will have those 31's hitting the wheel well in the front.
bluranger Dec 20 2003, 02:14pm THose 31's look sweet as hell on your truck man i like the look w/ the 17's i wish i had gone that way.
mazdwg217 Dec 21 2003, 11:51am Those look sweeet! I've never saw a set up like that. Do they slow you down any? And what gearing and engine do you have?
quadzjr Dec 21 2003, 01:20pm Cool... I was just wondering i need bigger tires to go help me from getting stuck when hunting...
meanranger94xl Dec 21 2003, 10:54pm they slow me down a bit but once im rolling its hard to stop lol. i have 3.73's stock and am considering 4.10's in the future but for now its tolerable.
thanks for your opinion on the new setup.
at first i thought mustang rims on a/t tires would be kinda strange but it turned out looking good.
93 2wd Dec 30 2003, 06:29am how much were those tires? and what kind are they?
Bag_o_donuts17 Dec 31 2003, 01:21pm IMO, i dont see how the older 2wd rangers can fit 31's with little rubbing, and my 2001 4x4 w/31'2 rubs the same as my friends 95 splash with 31s. i got a brushgurd on the front, would it weigh my front end down that much though? btw, your truck looks great with the bigger rims. i woouldnt go tellin people that they are stang rims, especially when u go wheelin lol
meanranger94xl Jan 20 2004, 04:15am hey guys i got my coils on up front!!!!!
they ended being a little over 2" lift height....it looks great....now the rear is slightly lower and i need to jack that up..
then im planning on a 3" body but first i have 4.10s in my garage waiting to be put in.

DownSouthTAS Jan 20 2004, 09:27am Can you go over speedbumps without rubbing?
meanranger94xl Jan 20 2004, 09:45am yes i sure can and go full turn just about....but thats due to the 1" adapters mostly pushing out
Craigar Jan 22 2004, 08:33am My 86 is just getting out of hand. 3" body and a 4" suspension and I haven’t even got to the tires yet. Absolutely need longer brake lines. Pics are here (http://www.craigar-racen.com/Bubba%20Truck.htm) We call this the Bubba Truck Project.

So you do rub? Wait, thats right, you have 2" leveling coils and 31s on an otherwise stock 2wd...My friend has a 3" lift on his 4x4 and won't run any bigger than 31s so he won't rub. So it only makes sense for you to run 31s on a 4x2
nojoshn Jan 26 2004, 08:19pm my 31's do not rub on my stock 93 4x4 took it out 4x4n for the first time. the tires are new but a no name. still bad ass tires
meanranger94xl Feb 05 2004, 02:42pm well DownSouthTAS, if i turn the wheel as far as i can it will slightly rub with these 31.9" tires...remember these are 17" wheels also ...so this is a big combo..but my coils are actually like AT LEAST 2" up front (they might have been for a 4x4 idk)
on a seperate note...are these tires the same exact measurement as a 31x10.5x17? mine are 265/70/17 which is 31.9" x 10.4" x 17.....is that slightly larger or the same? i just see the 31.9" and think that it is close to 32".

Whats the difference between a 31" tire on a 15" wheel and a 31" tire on a 17" wheel? The sidewall. Thats it. I'm not sure how having 17's makes it a "big combo"
McDerry Feb 07 2004, 10:39am tas is rigth its not a big combo its just a big hole through the middle of the tire. And most 31's are between 30-32 inches tall. Also personally a larger rim doent neccesarily help when actualy off the pavement. The more sidewall you have the more shock the tire will absorb. Air down them 31's and youll be finding it a tad less giving, if not hazardous for your rims. also the front coils will settle, youll probally end up with the front lowering a half inch or so within a month. Personally i wouldnt be worring about rub as much as i would be worried about airing down and going down some trail and smackinga tire off a rock and putting a rim out of round. All in all its a nice looking truck.
meanranger94xl Feb 09 2004, 08:56pm ok thanks guys
DownSouthTAS Feb 10 2004, 08:06am I think the "ideal" amount of side wall is 10" on each side, so a total of 20" of sidewall all around. That means the "ideal" tire size for a 15" wheel is a 35" tire. That is supposed to provide the best combination of sidewall flex and stability. But what do I know
