I wonder if it would be a good idea to put an aftermarket clutch in to go with the whipple charger kit, maybe a stage II? It couldn't possibly be good to put all that horsepower on the factory clutch could it?

Just to be on the safe side, i think i'll upgrade to a centerforce stage II, that is, if centerforce makes them for rangers. Any reccomendations?

Peace:rocking:

That is the one thing whipple implies would be good to replace. They and others have said the stock clutch would be fine on a base level sc kit with nice easy driving. I don't think anyone is going to pay $2500 for a supercharger and drive nice...so a stage II would be a very well placed addition. I'm not sure on brand, but I know there are aftermarket clutches made for the ranger. I think it is centerforce...but could be another brand.

Check out the Spec group of clutches. They have a kit that will take care of your truck.

I recently put a ClutchMasters stage II in my ranger along with a Hurst short shifter. The clutch definetly has a nice pull to it (my truck has 55k on the odometer). I hope to add a supercharger within the next year.
