Doug,
I have an 03 3.0 edge ex cab my question I work at our local Ford dealership and had our transmission man install a shift kit in my edge it shift real well now( lets you know your going thru the gears at 6 grand) will whipple reprograming the pcm have an affect on the shift points when I install the SC,or is there any way they can leave it alone? My trans guy said that with the shift kit my truck will hold the power alot better and have a lot less HP lost through the trans. Just curious what your thoughts on the matter are . Thanks

P.S. In case you don't remember me I'm the guy that tried to race you at atlanta motor speedway in the blue mustang during the ranger run.

Hey guy, how's it going?

Hmm, that's a good question. My thoughts are this, the kit you installed was something that didn't effect the electrical parts of the tranny rather it was made to adjust the manual shifting capabilities. I wouldn't think the Whipple tuning would have much effect because although it will be adjusted in the tuning it will still use inputs from to the computer to adjust its shifts.

In short I'd tell the company you order it from about your kit and then let them run it by whipple. In the mean time I too will pass your question on to them and see what comes of it.

I do have a question to as which kit did you install and what did it involve? Was it an electronic recalibrator or was it something mechanical?

Let me know and we'll go from there. You may be able to keep up with me with a Whipple but that poor stang didn't have a chance ;).

Later Doug904.
