Hey their i'm gonna be upgrading my i-beams on my 1986 2wd ranger with a 302 in it to 1990-1997 model with the 95 spindels and calipiars and i'm told i need to get a sway bar also whats the biggest one i can get and were to get it from. Also i'm gonna be installing a 8.8 out of a 1992 ranger and was wondering whats the biggest one to get for my ranger i've lowered it 2-2 also on stock 14" rims for now but will get some bigger ones in the future thanks for the help. And is their much difference when mounting these sway bars compared to stock i've also seen a guy rear mount his rear say bar not sure if it help but is this a good idea. I'm also gonna run pollyurethan bushings as well please i need you're help thanks a lot

I wouldn't say that a sway bar is a necessity but it could not hurt. I think the easiest option is a factory BII 2wd Sway bar. They problem with rear mounted way bars made for Gen I Rangers is ground clearance on lowered trucks is severly compromised.

Did you have a question about the 8.8? It should be the same width as what you are taking out and should have larger brakes.

the biggest bar that mounts in front of the engine is 1 3/8 ... made for the early 90's explorer made by suspension techniques .... on my 87 b2 i had to move the mounts forward a little .... when i autocrossed it - it was to stiff for the front and would lift the front inside tire on real tight turns .... still have it but can't use it .... will sell if for 40.00 plus shipping .... i have the hellwig that mounts behind the engine, it is 1 1/4, it mounts to the rear crossmember and reduces ground clearance by about 1 inch ......

1" front mount and 1 1/8 rear mount - stiff
1 1/4 hellwig rear mount stiffer - stiffer due to better technology
1 3/8 front mount... stiffest
