Hi. I wanted your guys oppinion on an idea I have. I have a 75 mustang 2 body that I used as a donor car for my 88 ranger v-8 swap. Now I have a 91 xlt ranger that I want to put airbags onto. I figured that the mustang 2 front clip would work way better for this application because the indipendent front end would not suffer camber changes like the beams in there do now. Have any of you guys done a front suspension swap like this?. I wondered if you guys have any ideas or input or have found any sites that have pictures of this done? I think this would be a pretty slick swap and with all the aftermarket parts for the mustang 2 front-ends it could realy help the handling if you are into road racing as well. Anyways, I appreciate any input you guys have.

289 danger ,did you have to cut all the old front x-member out of your truck or notch it or something like that? also what about your engine mounts?

there are many ways to do it, i myself have a mustang II as well. the way mine and 289 Dangers is. ther frame was cut off near the firewall and box tubing was put in from the cut forward and then the whole mustang II crossmember was put in place. as for engine mounts on mine pieces of plates were bent up and stock f150 mounts were used, mind you 289 and myself both have v8's
here is my mustang II setup

Thanks for the pics and stuff guys. That at least gives me an idea as to what i have ahead. Another thing before I forget. What did you guys use for brakes? did you run the mustang 2 rotors or something else? I am not sure I like the 4 bolts on front and fives in back

for my setup right now i got a set of coversion rotorssame size muastang II rotors but have a ranger bolt pattern.. they are tiny brakes, not too good if you plan on racing your truck!. howver there is a kit out there that will let you upgrade to 11" ford rotors with a 5 lug pattern. to do this ya run gm calipers and a bracket that you can buy to mount the caliper or ya can get a granada setup

here is a link to a page for the brake upgrades

Pick up a copy of jut about any style of hot rodding magazine
and they all have big brake kits fro the MII. Custom Rodder just
featured a strutless lower control arm conversion which also
comes with big brakes. right now I have the stock ranger rotors
on mine just to move it around, they dont fit right.
Im going to run 11", '75-'80 Granada rotors and 78 Malibu calipers
with the help of a caliper relocator from SHEARERS HOT ROD SHOP. I dont know the web site but you could probably find it in a search.
