Anyone ever build a tube frame for thier Ranger? I've got a little while longer on my tour so I've got a lot of time to plan. I wana build one for my Gen II, and I'm looking for all the key points I need to address. Along with any obvious tips. Keep in mind it'll be bag'd, 302, and BD'd. Also I'd prefer not to Have trailing arms coming from the Cage down to the Back Half.

right now Ive got the MII front end and Ill be cutting the back half
off right after the cab and using 2x3x1/8 box tubing to build the rear clip!
Im not a big fan of the "trailing arms" either so Im bringing mine down just below the box rail level and adding a cover.
because your BD'd this may not be as effective for you though.

Check out companies that produce tube frames for dragsters or tractor pullers. See how they fabricate a frame and go from there. Modify the design to fit your application. There are also companies like Morrison Engineering that fabricate sub frames and tube frames. Most will us a 4-link with coil overs. There is a lot out there to investigate before making any decision.

Good luck

Same topic, a little different question.

Does anyone know how much is would be to make a tubular frame? or at least how much steel would it take? What would be the best size? 2"x3" or something different?

Really need some help. Pic would be great also.

Just priced steel today... I'm backhalfing my Gen1 Ranger.

Coil overs and 4-link.. FOR DRAG RACING.

you want too use 2" by 3" Tubing, .083 Thick.

That is what all the aftermarket Frames are made out of..

24' Feet of it is only $47 bucks!!!!

Thats a hell of a deal if you can fab a frame.. New frames are $499
