I'm way overdue for changing the original shocks on my 96 2wd. They are still the originals.
I have heard that the lower stud mount on the radius arm will easily break when trying to remove the nut.
Has anyone run into this???
Got any tips???
Thank you

I used liquid wrench once a day for the week prior to chaning mine, then I took the torch to it when I went to take it off, one broke anyways, the other didn't though.

Did you have to peplace the whole radius arm? Or did you drill it out and put a bolt in?
I have gone to 3 auto parts stores and talk to 3 dealer parts departments. The only thing they have is a replacement arm. No stud kit is available.

Thanks for the reply hellbilly. I've been to NAPA, Pep Boys, Advanced and Auto Zone. They all say the same thing. There used to be a stud peplacement kit, but it's no longer offered.
The replacement arms aren't terribly expensive from Ford, I just hate to go through the hassle of replacing something I shouldn't have to.
