My apologies for the long absence but we have been working like crazy getting the 3.0L Ranger, 5.4L-3V F150, and 5.4L-2V Expedition Whipple kits out. Although the initial launch of the kit is for only the 2002 thru 2004 model years, we have now demonstrated that the kit can be made to work on a 1999 including calibrating the 4R44E transmission thanks to Doug.

Nevertheless, we now have a fairly good idea of the alterations required for the 2002 thru 2004 Whipple kit to make it backward compatible. In fact, we are working with several companies to begin the retro conversions and hopefully they will move on these other model years promptly.

Please take note that the introduced base Whipple supercharger kit for the Ranger is rated at an engine power rating of 230hp. This is the rating that has been tested and has proven to be both reliable and durable. Within the next few weeks, we will be posting pictures of the durability engine internals.

Most of you are aware that we have pushed the outer limits of the Whipple Ranger kit to an engine power of 270hp in full race configuration and were able to produce low 14 second quarter mile times as long as you can find traction. However, this power configuration has not been tested for durability or emissions compliance so it is not currently being offered. We'll let you know if that changes.

Since Doug's in installed on a '99 I'd wait a few months and see what happens. I believe 98+ will be reality in a year at the absolute most.

Sorry I'm new here can anyone help me out with some info on the kit? I looked at the site but have a few questions:

1. What boost is it running at?

2. I heard you have to change out the MAF sensor and the intake is this correct? and if so which one(s) do you use?

3. How is the needed additional fuel added? Just fuel injectors? or is it injectors + reprogramed ECU ? or other?

4. I know this may be a dumb question but is the 3.0L a steel bock motor? (like I said I'm new to the ranger) as I know on import cars with steel blocks they can handle a ton of boost as long as the fuel is there.

5. Any one have any idea of how much boost the motor can handle?

6. Are the HP #s on a stock motor with just the S/C kit? or is there and exhuast and headers on that as well?

7. What size are the injectors?

8. Can someone list the parts in the kit?

Sorry for all the questions ... I'm just really interested.

you can get 12lbs with a pully change, the mas is recalibrated from a 4.0 ranger the fuel injectors are 24lbs and the ecu is recalebrated from wipple they send you an already adrresssed and stamped box and turnaround seems to be about 3-4 days. the 3.0 is NOT an alluminiun block. 12 lbs is the highest boost Ive heard so far. The hp on dougs is tuned, but the hp from wipple is on a stock motor. once again 24 lb injectors and the kit includes upper intake, injectors, complete intake track with MAS,compressor(super charger) the box to mail your ecm in and directions. this has been posted several times I know I'm slightly obsesed with it.
