Some @$$hole keyed my ranger! Down the length front to back and across the tail gate!:cussing:
Any suggestions on what to do for this? I also have many of the typical parking lot door opening chings along my bed. People who dont watch there doors make me mad!:cussing:
Any help to make my truck look pretty again would be greatly appreciated!:)

Well, a little rubbing compound and a good waxing job is about all I know about... but if the scratches are really deep then it won't do you much good... might need to get the paint touched up at a body shop....
My limited knowledge on the subject...

If the scratches are really deep the only way to go is the body shop. Because body shop repairs are so costly, your insurance company might cover it, saying it's vandalism.

Is your paint #PB?
The darker green colors touch up alot less noticable as the lighter colors do,
You said there are other damage area on your truck! If you don't want to put some $ untill after winter then your best bet would be to touch - up the area so no rust will happen !!
I do this for dealership and there are acouple of ways in doing this ! But you also needs to know that it s just an repair and only a repair!
But if you want it to look new looking then its what you pay for is what you get in the paint job!!

I have a few pretty good scratches (dark blue truck) and have used that color-back stuff that comes with a little lipstick looking tube( Made by Turtle Wax I believe). It actually works pretty good, it's kind of a pain if you have alot to do, but you need to reaply it after a couple of car washes depending on how hard you're scrubbing. P.S. Is that an A.R.E. cap on your truck avatar ?

Your insurance should cover it but you might have to pay a deductable. If you wet the scratch and it disapears it migt just go through the clear, so you only need to brush on clear, if not try brushing in color then clear and build it up until its a little higher that the rest of the paint, then wet sand it and buff. Ihave a lot of them done on mine every year(cause i'm to lazy to paint it)

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Of course the best thing would be the paint job, but i am broke! And insurance is high enough in CA without claimes. I will try the touch up suggestions.
FORD385s, those are stock 95 aluminum wheels and caps. I used to work at A.R.E. at the Rancho Domenguez plant as an engineering intern. I can tell you nearly anything you want to know about the product. If I am ever in the position to spend money on wheels, I would get ARE. Unfortunatly, my stocks are 14", and I want 15" so I would need new tires too = More money then I have!! Well, perhaps in a year or so.

If you have comp on your truck you should just be able to pay your deductible and the insurance will pay for the rest. For a claim like that your insurance should not go up, if it's your only one. I believe with comp claims your deductible is what raises rahter than your rates. Don't be afraid of your insurance agent, give him/her a call and tell them what happened, ask if you have coverage for it, and if you turn in the claim what will happen to your rates/ deductible. Just by calling and asking your rates will not go up, and they won't red flag you or anything so don't worry about that. A little thought... If you were thinking of doing body work, and you have insurance coverage... this is a good opportunity for that. Insurance will pay for your paint job (on damaged parts) and you have to pay for actual work outside removing the scratch.
