On there front page it says We will also soon be carrying a supercharger kit for 3.0L Rangers and on there Performance Products Page it says3.0L Ranger Supercharger kit - Coming in Jan. 2004

So does any one know any thing about it. Should i hold off on the Whipple too see what then come out with?

that would be the whipple supercharger, they will just be a dealer that you can buy it from.

Check the website. Polished is $500 or something like that.

I don't know about the "little bit extra" or 98+. Doug had to have his specially programmed and I belive they probably talior each chip to the specific truck. I was under the assumption that the limiter stayed on Ford's request. So unless they agreed to let it be raised someone like Apten would probably have to for an extra $200.

Well yeah, I know the polished is an option from whipple, I was just talking about whether or not the 'apten kit' for 98+ would be available in polished. I know the computer reprogram has to be done on the computer from the truck, but thats becaust the passive anti theft system (PATS) is truck specific. The actual programming is the same. Whipple is working with doug on his 99, but after they get his running right and all, they'll know what it was that needed to be changed, and it will then be a universal fix for the kit to be compatable on 98+. The limiter is staying on for the same reason ford put it on in the beginning. A stock ranger is not equipped to be going faster than 90. Stock truck tires can't handle it, and this kit is made to go on a stock truck. Lower the stance, put on some stickier lower profile tires to handle the speed and get a chip to remove the limiter...it'll be just as safe at speed as any other properly equipped car or truck. Had they removed the limiter, and had some '90mph or under' tires blown and somebody die...byebye whipple as we know it.

the plan is for us to offer a 98+ version and possibly a 95+ version after we take some time to test them all out. It is all based on the whipple kit

Ok you have already started working on what i was thinking. My questine is how much for the kit and programing. I have 42lb injectors and a 75mm pro flow mas or can use a set of matched flowed 25.3 injectors. I have a 99' flex fuel ranger. i already have a super chip installed. So i don't know if you can use it for the reprograming. I was tring to buy a 02 lower intake for the convertion. We don't have smog here and i have family near you. So shoot me a cost and i will go from their. Also what cam do you sujest, Can't spell today.

For Apten,
When the '00 Kit is out, will I send in my computer to you or Whipple for the re-flash? Or, can I just have you burn a custom chip for me and avoid the computer re-flash altogether.

Also, if I decide to buy a chip from you prior to the Whipple, can I then send it back to you for a re-burn when I do get the Whipple, assuming I don't need to send my computer in.

i have the same questions as above... will you be able to handle the computer part too or will it still have to be sent to whipple and also... when are you looking to have these kits out by ?

Im guessing the kit will be sold with an apten chip already programmed for it.

anyone talked to apten ? tried find out more info but nothing so far. so if anyone knows anything let me know

They are tring to work up some #'s for me. Like i said before i only need part of a kit. I want to get a new cam for the charger and some roller rockers. I really want to build a 3.0 just for the charger. But that's going to happen later.

I haven't heard anything from them yet. I was hoping to hear something soon. Moneys in the bank and drawing dust. I don't like dusty money. Any one have a idea on spec. on a cam to run with the sc.

SC=No cam change needed. Will it help to have one? Yes, is it a must? No.

I have a list of parts that will work with stock components, and I'm looking for suppliers of REAL parts...

I know it's not a must. BUTTT!!! i want all that i can get out of it. I lost the specs i had on the cam i wanted. I want the biggest i can run without freaking out the computer. I am thinking of tricking the computer into running alittle more fuel pressure and opening up the injectors. By putting a resister in the fuel pump pressure release and making it think i am running more ethenal in my fuel. But i need alot more info before i do it. I haven't heard a word out of athen yet.
