OK, I have a 2001 4.0 SOHC and want to go in on the ZEX Nitrous kit. Now, I was wondering can a stock engine handle this or will I seriously damage it. I don't want to build up the engine itself, because I am a "bolt-on" type of guy. I would like to go faster but not if I'm gonna mess up the truck....I don't need it that bad. Thanks.

Well if you stick to a small enough shot of NOS you should be fine. I would say 50-75 hp shot would be good for a stock motor. RangerPete has a 100 shot on his truck and I havent heard of any problems.

You can run a 75hp shot no problem. I have heard of Explorers around here, with a 125hp shot on the OHV 4.0L and no problems.

The bad news here is that the ZEX kit will not work with a returnless fuel system like that fitted to your 2001.

Well there goes that idea. I thought I read somewhere that the ZEX would work on it  Oh well, I just bought some rims....That should hold me over for awhile.
