I was just wondering if they are related? For instance, what parts will transfer over? The heads maybe? Im assuming the power advantage they have is from better flowing heads and intakes?
I have the old style 2.3 and its not a dog, but its more bark than bite. Which I hate. Lookin for ways to up the power without spending more than ~500.

I believe the Limas are totally different engine designs, I'm not sure that anything is interchanable.

What kind of engine is the lima? SOHC? Pushrod?

The power advange is mainly the heads, but NO parts will swap.
The 2.3/2.5L Lima is a Ford Engine
The 2.3L Duratec is an All-aluminum Mazda Engine.
If you want power, maybe you could search around on the internet for a Duratec engine to swap into your Ranger. Add intake, and a better exhaust and have 160+HP

yeah there all right the 2.3L duratec is an all new design so nothing will change over. other than the 2.3L liters is the only thing the same. although my brother has one and it is fast! especially compared to my wore out 84 rangers 2.3L.

you might be looking at 135 to the ground... anwho, the 2.3 lima is a SOHC 2.3. the same 2.3 in the mustang and the some block used for the supercoupes turbo and the svo trubo motor and the Murker Xr4ti Turbo, they are all the same motor. jsut have different intakes and exhausts :E the parts market for the new 2.3 DOHC Duratec motor is growing rapidly, Marcy Motorsprts is a place to look and Draxxas makes good stuff too, the new 2.3 now comes in the new focus so look for lots of goodies to come. cams chips and so on

Actually, it's the Tbird Turbo Coupe. The Super Coupe got a supercharged 3.8L V6.
