Frdmerk Nov 16 2001, 05:44pm varsol will clean everything right up and it wont harm the paint. But still wash everything when you are done later Explorer_2196 Nov 16 2001, 07:12pm Its hand cleaner but I think it can do the job: http://srd.yahoo.com/srst/8861064/bondo/4/17/*http://www2.meangreen.com/meangreen/ Explorer_2196 Nov 16 2001, 07:13pm Anyone know why my name gets deleted from the site all the time? I have to sign up about 3 times a week. Frdmerk Nov 16 2001, 07:49pm I use that stufff on everything and it works great but i've never tried it on tar . maidenusa Nov 16 2001, 08:28pm laq. degreaser! Its what I use before all my bumer repair blends! you can get it from any auto paint stores. lowryda Nov 16 2001, 08:34pm gas works well too, just have to do a little scrubbing thats all Frdmerk Nov 16 2001, 08:53pm Originally posted by maidenusa laq. degreaser! That stuff can harm the paint if left on and maybe plastic (depends what kind). maidenusa Nov 16 2001, 09:31pm Originally posted by Frdmerk When you say Laq. degreaser, Do you mean laquer thinner? (degreaser)! it is used to clean paint before painting! As for the laq thinner,it will hurt single stage paint!! and as for the factory b/c and c/c,you can use it to clean off anything you want to and w/out damage it !there are some thing you should not do! is no (hard) rubbing or laq soak rag sit on the c/c for a long time! as for the plastic, I dont recall saying anything about that!or was you asking me a ? this what I do for a living and trust me or not! but I would not miss lead no one!! FordRangerFan17 Nov 17 2001, 09:48am Okay, so say I used gas cause i'm too lazy and broke to get laq. degreaser or varsol. Should i just get some gas on a rag and wipe it, and it'll just come off, or do i have to scrub it forever? With the laq. degreaser will it just come right off? Should I use some sort of brush? maidenusa Nov 17 2001, 10:21am Originally posted by FordRangerFan17 Okay, so say I used gas cause i'm too lazy and broke to get laq. degreaser or varsol. Should I use some sort of brush? since its not on the paint area, let the gas soak alittle on the the tar and dip the brush in the gas and work your arms!watch your eyes!! Fisrt off I don't remember saing that you were wrong and trying to miss lead people!I was just wondering if it was the same as laquer thinner. maidenusa Nov 17 2001, 01:28pm Originally posted by Frdmerk Fisrt off I don't remember saing that you were wrong and trying to miss lead people!I was just wondering if it was the same as laquer thinner. cool :) whtranger Nov 20 2001, 11:43pm I had some bad tar on my truck (it's white). It was really stubborn and I busted out the pinesol and it came off... kj_tampa Dec 02 2001, 12:52am 3M has "Adhesive, Tar, and Wax Remover" and thats the best stuff on earth at gettin stuff off, and its like 4 bucks. 3M rocks koyaanisqatsi Dec 30 2001, 09:44pm The best stuff on earth for removing tar is lighter fluid. Not the aerosol either:E . Get some of the stuff for a dollar at the store and put it on a rag and wipe. A few times over it should do the trick. It breaks down the tar almost immediately. The 3M works great but is about twice the price and harder to find than lighter fluid. I wouldn't use laquer thinner or gasoline since they will attack the finish. The lighter fluid evaporates in a very short time while the other stuff sticks around and will damage the paint. Ever see the discoloration of the paint around a gas cap on a car that hasn't been washed in like 5 years? |
