Sorry for my mispelling^

This is what I recently learned to show juts how much abuse a 2.3 can take.

My g/f's friend has and 92 mustang 2.3 with 180,000 miles on it. This car has been mistreated from the day it was bought.

Recently the water pump broke and the car was taken into the shop. While it was there they looked over the vehicle and found that the engine was in great condition even tough:

the timing belt and acessories belt has NEVER been changed
Spark pulgs and wires have been changed once
oil is only changed every 5k-6k miles
the only other matience done to this car has been tire changes and two sets of brake pads

This car is a hard daily driver and usually gets about 100 to 200 miles put on it a day in stop and go trafic.

I found this amazing that the 2.3 can be this mistreated and the only major repair is having a water pump go out over the corse of 180k.

Wow, that thing has been abused. The one thing that Ford did right with these motors is that they do last. Especially if you take care of them. I have a '90 with 106k miles and it still purs like a sowing machine.

holy shiznit that was an old post. I was wondering who stole my username again. And that mustang is still running. Engine is strong although the trans is about a few miles away from taking a dump on itself.

Auto, I don't know what specific type though. Did ford put the a4lds in those stangs like the ranger? That might be why.
