Would a 1998 Explorer 5.0 302 V8 be any different from the Mustang 302's? Would it work in a B2?

my g/f's mom has one but it is pretty slow but here is the kicker, they have extreme potential, if you check out a mustang site all of the mustang owners want explorer heads because they flow as well or even better than cobra heads. Other than that they are the same as regular 5.0L's.

Actually the Explorer 5.0s are better than the Mustang 5.0s it's just that their cams suck. If I had it to do over, I would have gone with the Explorer motor. They have the cast iron GT40P heads and the intake is very similar to the GT40. However, if you take a Ford Motorsport E cam and swap it in, the horsepower jumps to over 300. Been dyno tested numerous times.

OK, then a new Ford Motorsports "E" cam will make it awesome. Plus they can be found only a couple years old wich I like. Thanks guys.

5.0 Explorers have alot of potential. I've got a eaton on mine with some head work done, headers, a new cam, new exhaust system, chip. etc. etc. etc. And i haven't had it dynoed but even with its weight problem, it is quick. 5.0's a good motor, explorer 5.0's are even better. hehehe!
