I am replacing the timing belt on my 1989 ranger.
Problem - I can't get the crankshaft hub or timing belt gear ring off. I removed the bolt from the center of the hub but it won't budge, even with a three jaw puller.
Problem #2, I can't get the timing belt sensor bracket off. I removed the three bolts that appear to hold it on but it won't budge.

Any help is appreciated!!

Umm, 2.9L's don't have timing belts...do you have a 2.3?!
Maybe ask in the 4 banger board..

Um, are you referring to the accesory belt? runs your alt, water pump, etc...That "Thing" it hooks up to might just be the CRANKSHAFT?!

On another note, if it's your accessory belt you're swapping, depending on which one it is, there are different methods of changing it..but, all are bsaically find the bolt that holds the unit in place, that has a large slot it threads into (or a bolt that will push the unit away from the centre of the truck) and loosen it until the belt is slack enough to remove..place new belt(s) on the pullys the same way tou took em off, and adjust the tensioner until you have about 1/2-3/4 inch of play on the longest stretch of belt. Run engine, repeat tensioning, and repeat when belt slips..
