Yep and flow matched in every port.

I didn't go that far on the intakes, but the exhausts are the same. Very nice!
What's that going to cost per set? (Buyer provides new cores and all parts)

Here's another picture that better shows the exhaust bowl - it's completely radiused a full 360 degrees around the ex. valve guide and blended toward the port roof to accelerate the flow - there is no flat shelf for the exhaust gasses to hit and bounce back toward the valve and create reversion. Short side radius of the port floor can definitely be reworked - just gotta have the right shaped stones................

ps. Our very own 'Mr. Whipple' will be trying these out very soon with SI undercut stem valves - will be interesting to see.

Will you provide pictures of the stones you used? I have a variety of stones and a pair of heads. All I've done so far is open the intake and exhaust ports and I'm stuck on what stones to be using for the rest. Thanks.

Just picture a tapered cone with a dip in the middle - you'll understand what I'm talking about. Be careful just 'opening up the ports' - the intake doesn't need a lot and the majority of exhaust improvements are in the bowl and port roof. Just 'hogging them out will actually not help a lot and can kill low to moderate lift intake flow in a N/A engine. The 3.0 heads will flow right up there with good 4.0 heads - they have shorter runners and better valve angles - very condusive to flow.

Wow they look great! I'd like to see what kind of before and after impovements they make on a dyno plot. Good job.

I think he may have done them him self.....or else he is hiding something cause I ahve asked like three times now in this thread

He's not hiding anything. They are my heads for my truck and he did the port work on them and used to do the port work for my business. Now his hands are hurting from holding the tool for long periods of time and not to mention the amount of time it takes to do a good port job will really cut into your free time.

To give you an Idea of how much they MAY cost if he ever decided to do another set, my stage 3 heads were $1100.

Later Doug.

Not hiding anything at all - I do all the porting myself and have been doing it for years. Like Doug said, I was doing the 4.0 heads he was selling at 4.0Performance and after he shut that down, I was offering them myself for $1150, ready to bolt on and run. I did these as a favor to Doug just to see what the 3.0 heads will do - I'm really impressed with them.

Are you even planing on doing 3.0 heads for any one other than mr. whipple himself.

Not in the immediate future - as Doug said, I've got calcium deposits in my joints along with some arthritis and can't stay on the grinder too long without suffering for days afterwards. Going through some treatments that are helping some, so maybe in the future I can pick it back up.

Did you have to unshroud the valves? I've got a medium cut buff from Standard Abrasives that I'm going to use on the combustion chambers. The heads I'm treating were purchased ready to install(minus rocker arms). Is it safe to use my machined valves while buffing the chambers or do I need to use other valves? Thanks.

I would use garbage valves to protect the seats while you are buffing.
