i used the stock trans mount from a stang and moved my bronco2 trans crossmember forward likw 1-3/4". bolted up like a charm.
pinellas50 Dec 15 2004, 05:39pm I don't know why it keeps doing that. The pics are there sometimes, sometimes not. They are in my www. I have the same tranny mount as you and I made an adapter plate.
#1 Lone Ranger Dec 15 2004, 08:09pm I chizeled off the rivets on the frame mounts and redrilled the holes in the right place, one of them actually lined up with one of the orginal holes. Use a 3" grinder, chizel, and a steel punch. It took a hour or two but now it looks factory.
95Rangerxlt Dec 15 2004, 08:20pm I made an adpater late that works fine it just the holes in the mount dont line up with the ones in the crossmember. NATE

My tranny crossmember (1992) was all bolts, no rivets. Wonder why yours had rivets?
MdntRanger50 Dec 16 2004, 07:49am My 91 had all rivets. I moved my cross member twice. Once for AOD and second time for T5 swap. I'll post pics tonight when I get home from work.
95Rangerxlt Dec 16 2004, 08:56am Alright thanks. But im just wondering about the holes in the crossmember. NATE
they Just dont line up except for the center one which it says is for manufacturing purposes only.

MdntRanger50 Dec 16 2004, 08:36pm I used a mustang mount and it fit perfect in my '91 ranger cross member holes. Don't know why yours would be off that much. Do you think they may have given you the wrong mount when you purchased it?
MdntRanger50 Dec 16 2004, 08:51pm The #1 hole in the stock location was exactly where it needed to be for the back hole for the AOD and same goes when I went from AOD to T5. Cool it worked out that way, made it a lot easier to locate the other holes.
I'm also using L&L motor mounts.

Kevin Dec 16 2004, 08:54pm Great pic!
95Rangerxlt Feb 16 2005, 02:58pm Alright, I need to get this sorted out this weekend. I just re looked at this post and saw pinellas moved the mount to the transmission then ran the adpater plate from the mount to the cross member. I was trying to do it the other way. Pinellas how thick was the plate you used. I think my 1/4'' might be a little much. NATE

LOL that is exactly what I was gonna tell you.
trans ->mount ->plate->x-member
NOT trans->plate->mount->x-member
1/4" is what I used and I did exactly what Pinellas did.
95Rangerxlt Feb 16 2005, 03:45pm Alright. Man i cant wait to go home and get some more work done on the truck this weekend. Hopefully get that stupid plug for the oilpan and get some oil in it. Also going to price out a radiator and cooling fan. NATE
baddad457 Feb 16 2005, 05:14pm I'm using a stock 67-73 Stang ( also fits other Ford's too with either Toploader 4 speed or C-4's) trans mount, bolted to a trans X member I built from 3" channel with a 1-1/4" piece of angle welded upright on it's top. The mount bolts to the angle, with 2-1" holes punched thru the channel for socket access. The whole thing sits up inside the frame and is secured with a single 1/2 bolt per side. This also allows me to unbolt the Toploader 4 speed and replace the trans to bell bolts with 2--7" long alternator bolts in the bell and slide the trans back ( after removing the 1/2" X-member to frame bolts, shifter, and driveshaft) to adjust the McCleod hyd T/O bearing when needed. The X member took me all of 30 minutes to make.
95Rangerxlt Feb 16 2005, 05:39pm Got any pics? NATE
Rubenk Feb 16 2005, 07:04pm yea, pics would be nice, I am having difficulty understanding what you done with the crossmember. thx

Mine looks exactly like this, just used a 6x6 piece of 1/4" plate. Worked great.
95Rangerxlt Feb 16 2005, 08:30pm hey kev , not totally sure but there is some good information maybe you can make a area were all this type of information, such as trans mount engine mount.. etc... can be contained. Just a thought. NATE
Kevin Feb 16 2005, 09:02pm Sticky and copy to V8 archive and sticky there too?
