Well, my 2003 Ranger XLT is in the shop....(by the way, 2.3 DOHC)

I get home the other night, and pull in, shut it off, get out and smell COOLANT!!! :errrr:

I look and there it is, pouring out of my truck...I come to find out that the coolant return hose that runs from the drivers side of the radiator to the reservoir has busted loose. Well, Ford roadside assistance towed the truck to the dealer who said it's not just a leak, but something is backing the system up...

So, we'll see...

I know, I am heading to Ford today to check out bubbling in my coolant system.

Good Luck.

On my 2.3 DOHC the thermostat went bad at about 22,000 miles(fixed completely under warranty). The return line came loose on mine aswell. Not sure if it is related to the thermostat but it kept coming off before i had the thermostat fixed and i just kept putting it back on not knowing why it was coming loose. It hasn't come loose since I had the thermostat fixed and i have 69,000 on my truck now.So maybe thats all it is.
