View Full Version : Water injection problem...

Well, installed the water injection design that Brian came up with but it sounds like and acts like there is air in the line at all times. I tee'd into the windshield washer line below the tank, ran 1/4" down to the pump, mounted below the tank, had a two inch span of 3/8" to neck the hose up to the size of the pump's in/outlet. Then ran 3/8" into the solenoid and 1/4" out of the solenoid to the nitrous jet. With or without the pill in the fogger, it acts like a water hose does when you first turn it on, pushing the air out of the line.
I thought that these pumps were supposed to be 70-80 psi..., could it be that the pump is bad or is that span of 3/8" from the pump to the solenoid slowing things down (I wouldn't think so).
Any suggestions? Brian?

on the inlet side of the pump could the hose be collapsing causing a restricted flow?

It is also pulling through a 3/16" pump and 2" section of 3/16" pipe before the T. Think that could be it? I think that is how Doug is running his...

Problem solved! If anyone wants to run this setup you cannot T into the windshield washer line. The 3/16" pump and T fitting required is too much of a restriction. Will have to tap straight into the tank.
