well i've got the paxton s/c unit waiting to be installed, and i think i have pretty much everything for the install except a blow off valve. any suggestions of what brand i should get and where i could get it the cheapest? i know what blow off valves are for, but don't know too much else about them. i dont' really kno what to look for and what i would need..any info about different types of bov's and what not would be great and where should i go about mounting it? i found these ones on ebay, let me know what you think about them:

dude, i dont know its the sdame deal with super chargers, but my buddy with a turbo sid to get a super sequential bov. cuz that way it open up when ever the pressure builds up, not just when u let off the gas, or something like that, but he said its a better investment than just a regular bov, but that my .02

You do not want a blow off vavle on your setup. The proper peice of equipment you would use would be a bypass valve. Since your setuip is metering the air before it gets to the supercharger you have to recirculate that air back into the intake tract. You can't just blow it off into the atmosphere, or you'll end up running rich. You can get the cheap generic bosch bypass valves that should work for you fine.

i guess i thought a bypass/blow off valve was the same thing..i guess it makes sense to use a bypass valve though..where could i find a good bypass valve like the bosch one you mentioned? also, anybody know of a good place to get some 4.10's for my truck? i looked on ebay but didn't find much..im looking to buy brand new.

I don't run a bypass on my setup and have no problems at all - gotta remember that the Paxton is only 6# boost at the max - no real need for a bypass valve.

He is right. But I did have problems with mine surging even when I wasn't boosting. Here's a link to what I'm talking about if you want to pick one up.

They are pretty cheap. Wouldn't spend much more than $30 for a brand new one if that much.

Is what I'm selling pretty muxh the same thing that 97Lowrider is asking for? I don't need it for the amount of boost I'll be running, so I'll sell for $50 shipped. Color matches the truck as well. Let me know. Bypass Regulator (http://www.rangerpowersports.com/forum/showthread.php?t=156137)

No. That's a fuel pressure regulator. Send me a PM with the details though, I might be interested.

yeah i knew the paxton unit only makes like 6# so i was kind of curious as to the fact if i needed one or not. so you think i won't need one at all? would it be a good idea to get one just to be safe? is that one you gave me a link to on ebay any good wed?

It doesn't hurt to have one. It will help extend the life of your blower. Basially all it does is allow the compressed air a place to go when the TB is shut rapidly, like on decelration or on a shift. If the TB shuts, and there's no bypass it ends up forcing the TB open somewhat, and some will end up being forced back through the compressor. The lower the boost the less you will notice the effects. It's always nice to have a bypass though. The one I linked to on Ebay is the one I told you to buy. It's a very basic Bosch brand bypass. I'm pretty sure they were OE on the turbo Volvo's and a few others. It's nothing fancy but it will get the job done and it's not expensive.

It's one of those things like the fuel pump. The stock setup should be fine. But it wouldn't hurt to upgrade after you get everythign installed and running properly.
