Just had to post a title to offset that other post...
Today Dave Vanek and I installed my blolwer kit and it seems to be working great. Thanks to Dave for the day of installation, we had a great time. Dave is a cool guy to hang out with and tell stories with. Another thanks to Doug at Bama for the tune (my understanding, my code was a first for a blower application), the truck started up perfect and stalled a couple times during the learning process, but everything seems to be running perfect now and no CEL.
There is no blower whine inside the cab (and barely heard outside) at idle. You really don't pick up the sound until 3K or so, then it screams wickedly. Eventhough I haven't jumped on it hard, I can tell the powerband is beefier and I don't find my self slipping the clutch at a stop anymore. All around it just feels better.
I have a few homework assignments, need to install the boost gauge, grommets for the airbox, etc. But the truck is running smooth and strong, even the JBA exhaust sounds deeper.
I haven't dipped in to it too much, yet. Been keeping it under 4000 rpm since we won't have the big MAF installed until tomorrow (hopefully). Can't wait until it comes in, so I can really see what this thing in made of.
