new guy here so be easy.
I have a 2000 xlt ext cab 4x4 ranger with a auto and 3.73 gears. Its also lifted 3" w/a b/l and 33x12.5r15 tires and 70,000 on the clock.
I also have a s/c off a supercoupe (m90) with the intake tube and discharge tube. I want to make the two one and have read just about every post on this board about this. What Im looking help with is pics of Intakes you guys have fabed up to make this work. I seen where Brain had said if you modifie the s/c nose for the oiling you can run it upside down but....who has this done this way? Ive read his right ups and there very informitive but I need more before I do this to my daily driver. Im also going to try to run a msd boost timing master and msd 6al box with a fmu and regulator set up. I think I have a good handle on this project but need all info before I jump in.
BTW Im a drag racer with a 2.3 turbo set up so Im fumilaur with boost, fuel, timing and tunning.
Thanks
Joe

Can't tell you much about the S/C but the only msd you get for our trucks is the MSD DIS-4 you'll need that first then you can hook up the boost master retard on it.

Next problem. Your 2000 is returnless so you won't be able to run an FMU either.

I guess I should have said Im think on trying to use the msd and fmu, next time Ill look a little further into it before I say im going to use stuff. Hence the original post, I need to see how the intakes are made and any advise I can get. I like the idea of 2x3" box tube for the intake but Im worried since this is a daily driver, how the reliability of the blower is going to be upside down.

Wish I could help you on that, but since I haven't built one I'm not going to be much help. I hope you didn't take what I was saying as being harsh. I just was answering the part of the question that I could.

Thye have intakes made on ebay from a guy thats on this board just serch for m90 intake for a ranger. Thats the easy way since you can just buy one pre made.

I just reread the complete installation Brian Mckelvey did on a 2000 4.0 ohv (same as mine) and he said he used a FMU in the fuel system on his truck????

FMU's are really not that great....they do keep you safe A/F wise but at least for my setup it ran so rich under boost that I actually lost power. I'm doing ok with 24# injectors and a programmed MAF...just need to optimize it with a computer tune.

He also converted it and added in a return line.

Joe,
I've installed the M90 on my 2002 SOHC 4.0. I received the M90 from Ebay not knowing what mileage was on it when purchased. i have not done anything to it except (verify) oil level (prior) to installation. I now have over 8,000 miles on it as it (is) my daily driver and put on about 130 miles per day. I've had (no) problems to date, and the performance is great. I plan to modify another M90 I have to allow inspection of the oil level, and will then see if any interior wear or heat problems occurred due to the upside down installation.
Regards, Ron

So it can be done, did you modify the nose like Brain has suggested in other posts? Also how is you computor and fuel set up?

No modification on his kit. I have bought his but have yet to install it. My gauge pod is slowing me down (I'm making my own).
Where in Maryland are you? I'm in the Ellicott City and Eldersburg area.

Aeromotive sells a "digital" fmu, mostly used by s/c cobra guys. It takes the signal to the ecu and tricks it to think its at teh correct pressure, and then it varys the voltage to the fuel pump to add whatever amount of fuel needed. You get to se the curve and fuel pressure you want also.
