I recently sold my 95 Ranger Ext. Cab, 4cyl. and bought a 99 Ranger 4.0, 4x4, Ext. Cab, Flare side. The paint on my new truck is in excellent condition and I would like to keep it that way. What is the best wax to use on a black truck. I always wash my truck at least 1 time a week and will wax the new one at least once a month. Any pics of a black truck all waxed up will help me decide which is the best. I used mothers on my old truck and it did pretty good but I have heard so much about zaino, so I would like to try it. Thanks for any help in advance.

I like to use Meguires on my black '95. It usually gives good protection. As my understanding Zaino only makes polish (from what their website advertises). Mothers make some god products, but all I can usually find is the cleaner wax. I am not a big fan of cleaner wax. I will try and put a good pic of mine up, but I don't get very many chances to clean it up real well living in a college dorm and all.

My dad's been using 3M wax on his 97 Dodge Ram since he got it. From what he's used it's the best for black.

I have always heard good things about 3m, I like some of their cleaners. I am going to have to try that wax.

I use Meguirars (sp?) Gold Glass, works real good. I've heard 3M stuff is pretty good, never used it myself. Gonna order some Zaino now, my bro uses it and says nothing is better. There is a group purchase on the GP board now for Zaino, check it out.

Hey Shinoda, I e-mailed the guy on the gp and he said that he needed about 13 more people to get the deal. Also has anyone tried the mothers 3 step cleaner/sealer/wax (it is three different solutions to apply in steps).

Yeah I use the Meguiars Gold Class liquid on my black truck and it works great...makes the paint soooo reflective and shiny

Yes, on the car I owned before my Mazda. The car was red, but my truck is black. I think it did a good job and all, but it's 3 times the work. A couple of months later I read an article in either Consumer Reports or Motor Trend and they tested a bunch of waxes and polishes. They determined from their tests that the multi-step waxes did not yeild a better shine than the one step wazes. The magazine ranked Zymol the highest (this was a year or 2 ago).

I like using the Meguiars Gold Glass and the Zymol. They both work great, but the Meguiars is a little easier on your wallet.
