Well I recentlyhave come to a point where I wold really like to now some of the specs on the pre-OBD II 4oh engine. I'm trying to find the size of the valves for both the intake and exhuast, any and all camshaft specs, basically any specs you have may be useful but mostly those listed. Hope one of you guys now and if all else fails I'll just have to wait for Sven to come around again. :afro:

Valve size (nominal) = 43.5mm Intake, 34.5mm Exhaust
Now, there were about 5 different camshaft profiles used in the 4.0L between 1990-95. Did you have a particular year in mind?

Well I was looking for the values for my '90 model but if the cams are different is anyone better than the others? I'll take nay year you can give me but would prefer the '90 model specs. Thanks Sven.

I have a .pdf document file of two stock cams. These cams were digitized on my CamPro Plus machine, and it should be noted that the timing events do not include installed specs. I'll try to e-mail them to you.
One is a pre-production thru 1990 model (0-stripe), and the other is a 91-94 (3-stripe) California cam. All in all, every 4.0L cam is really lazy. In other words, no one single cam is decidedly better than the other.

That is, I will e-mail them to you if you would send me your e-mail addy! vanirv6@aol.com:dunce:
Sven, do you have a recommended replacement cam for the OHV engines? Something that makes good low end torque and some improvement in top end hp? I'm not even going to ask about OHC cams, I'm pretty sure there's nothing out there for them yet.
Oh, they make headers for 98 explorers, but I can't find out if it's for the OHV or OHC engines. Would these fit on a Ranger? It would really be nice if they were for the OHC engine. I've emailed truckperfomance, but no response back yet.
Thanks

For most street applications, I recommend our Comp 410 grind. This is an excellent and very docile cam for the OHV engines. It also makes a really nice nitrous/blower cam as well.
Also, don't give up on SOHC cams yet. We have prints and are working on core supply as we speak. I hop to have street cams ready by Late winter/early spring.
As for headers for a 98, I am not aware of anyone with these in actual production. Seem doubtful that we ever will.

How does the 410 Cam do with Gas mileage and emissions? I'm interested in the performence yet I live in California.
