Nah she will have the normal 302ho swap...

You beat me too it... yeah the bolt pattern will be the same 5X4.5, the toyota front as well runs 5x4.5... and also the same width... The RX7 rear is really quite awsome, same bolt pattern, width, posi, disk brakes, and best of all.... no driveshaft movement with the IRS...

About the Toyota front... finally getting rid of the crapy i-beams.. and i will need it to untuck the 20's ... all four corners... almost a 4 inch stock floor on 20's..

And to my knowlage i haven't seen any 2nd gen's out their with 4-corner independent suspension... thats kinda why im doing it... ohh and it will be easyer to tuck the 20's in the rear with a little neg. camber back there.

Hopeing to debut her at showfest... total 100% retro style... she will have something REAL special for the front suspension.... you guys shall see in due time... i will post updates as soon as they are done... thanks for the replys

We mocked it to sit up a little bit, just so their would be less chance of anything grabbing it when i was driving... i think its about an inche off the ground.... i will measure and take better shots of the front when i go back to the shop.

No i havent been to the shop yet, you will not have a problem with the oil pan, but we are building new mounts and x-members anyways because we want to keep the stock hood, We have a 5.0ho 5-speed that we were going to use but as of right now i think instead i am going to run a V8 Flathead, you know, be the only one to ever do that swap should be cool. (the 5ltr HO that i have is forsale btw, wink wink)

Thank you... thats a totally awsome comment man, i appricate it. Yeah some people dont see all the truely custom stuff that is being done... its not easy throwing a toyota front frame, rx7 rear frame and chassis together, then make all the mounts for it all, make sure its straight 1,000 times over, and make it all work. Its not like there are too many v8 into bodydropped toy clipped rangers, so we had to do it all in the dark. You dont see very many one off rangers out there anymore, i wanna bring the fire back and stop the whole "lets build s-10's trend"

Yeah i dont know how you missed it either :biggrinha

No its got HUGE plans in it... a ton more to go. You notice nothings left in the interior?... yeah im going all steel, real old school. Steel dash with Galaxie 500 cluster (see below). Solid billet steering colum, big old school wheel, HUGE shifter. Metal headliner, doors, back wall, etc etc. All shaved. Under dash batterie, and clutch/brake master cylinders.

Exterior will be a flatend black with red metal flake scallops, shaved everything, one off rear lights, suicide doors (of course). and one off headlights (maybe)... sitting pretty on 20 inch smoothies.

Suspension has a 3 3/4 stock floor BD custom chassis, and bags.... how the bags will be mounted is a surprize... you will have to wait.

Motor is going to be a fully rebuilt 5.0... t-5 tranny carbed. Smoothed firewall.

And plenty of other tricks under our sleves... i will keep updating so stay tuned. :king:

no.... why change the classic look of the 2nd gen ranger?... The only thing i would do is a range rover clip... but that style clip will not match with the style the truck will be... we thought of one offing a set of headlights... but i still didnt want to loose that "ohh **** check out that ranger" :leghump: effect... sometimes having a truck not look like its origional gets old... i want to see more old school rangers out there... so i plan on keeping that style.

If you are refering to the pipe in the x-member then yes it is 3 inch tube

Well i dont plan on dropping the tranny seeing as she wont be daily driven. But incase that IS the case then yes, i would have to un-bolt it from the headers, take the pipes off the hangers and drop it with the x-member. The exaust will not go all the way to the rear.. infact the mufflers will be just behind that x-member you see there. But that is the kind of stuff you have to give up to get more ground clearence and keep exaust at the same time... :thumbsdow

That's an awesome build up. I can't wait to see it done. I'm glad I could help you with the engine assembly. If you do need any parts, unfortuantly I switched jobs sense and can't get you the deals that I used to be able to at Mustangs Unlimited. Well I will talk with you later.

Yeah man thanks again for the motor.. can you measure that rad that you have for me... unforuntly since we decided to tube frame the rad support i dont know if that stang one will work but if you can check for me that would be great

One of the best builds on RPS... TOTM material right here!!!!!

Thanks man! Ummmm yeah TOTM would be cool... but i dont even know how people get picked fot that kind of stuff.

Thats sweet man! How much lift are u expecting to get out of that?

We cant fully tell right now till we get the drivers side done, but we are hopeing 10+ inches.

i love the rims man, trucks looking sweet. and as a welder by trade, you can definatly lay down a weld. my concern is on your cantilever tubing, looks to me like it could use a gusset between the two angles, but i,m no engineer. keep the progress rolling, this is better than watching midget wrestling, ok maybe not, but close.

Yeah it doesnt NEED bracing per say because it is 2x2 and its beefy as hell, but yeah we were planing on doing another angle conecting the V and to match the other angles that that rear has (see a pattern?)

But i havent decided on the style it will have (since it is one of the main parts that will be focused on by enthusiasts and i should give them something styleish to look at) so untill then it will stay how it is till i can scroung up something cool to do to it. Im thinking something with spikes.
