d12d12 Dec 24 2005, 01:52pm so the bolt pattern aint gonna be the same for the front/rear ??? thats what we call CUSTOM.. lol good job
MacDaddy Dec 24 2005, 02:23pm thats sexy....

tehzack Dec 24 2005, 03:08pm Wow, thats crazy man! Looks like quite a project, good luck, though you seem to have a good handle on what your doing.
ps- Throw that rotary in there too!! That would be too sick man.
clenzer72 Dec 24 2005, 04:07pm WOW! that's awsome...i wish i had the space, tools, and skills, to do something like that to my truck
AcidRanger Dec 24 2005, 04:49pm I just wish i had the time to do that. Hopefully summer will allow me the necessary time to do my body drop on a full custom frame. Anyways man looking good, keep us updated as you complete more, god that sh*t looks sexy! Oh and let me know when you ready to help me with mine in summer 06 LOL
nusensesd Dec 24 2005, 04:50pm so the bolt pattern aint gonna be the same for the front/rear ??? thats what we call CUSTOM.. lol good job
Mazda uses teh same bolt pattern as the ranger.. 5X4.5
Nice work.. Going to look nice when its finally done..
What size tires are you setting it up to lay on??
92rangerscraper Dec 24 2005, 08:01pm Wow, thats crazy man! Looks like quite a project, good luck, though you seem to have a good handle on what your doing.

Nah she will have the normal 302ho swap...
Mazda uses teh same bolt pattern as the ranger.. 5X4.5
Nice work.. Going to look nice when its finally done..
What size tires are you setting it up to lay on??
You beat me too it... yeah the bolt pattern will be the same 5X4.5, the toyota front as well runs 5x4.5... and also the same width... The RX7 rear is really quite awsome, same bolt pattern, width, posi, disk brakes, and best of all.... no driveshaft movement with the IRS...
About the Toyota front... finally getting rid of the crapy i-beams.. and i will need it to untuck the 20's ... all four corners... almost a 4 inch stock floor on 20's..
And to my knowlage i haven't seen any 2nd gen's out their with 4-corner independent suspension... thats kinda why im doing it... ohh and it will be easyer to tuck the 20's in the rear with a little neg. camber back there.
Hopeing to debut her at showfest... total 100% retro style... she will have something REAL special for the front suspension.... you guys shall see in due time... i will post updates as soon as they are done... thanks for the replys
NeedsMoney Dec 24 2005, 10:09pm Man thats badass! I wish i had the money to do that to my 95 i just got. But i got laid off my job so now it looks like im going to have to get rid of it! =( I dont really want to but i just cant afford it anymore... Cant wait to see this thing done! its going to be clean!

NeedsMoney Jan 08 2006, 12:09pm Hey man i got a few questions for ya on the yota front end. Does the engine cross member lay on the ground? Or is it up a little, i cant really tell from the pics. Cuz i have a 84 front end and im doing the same thing with it that u are doing... for my 95. But im just curious where the cross meber sits... Let me know man i would really appreciate it! thanks Looks good so far!!

We mocked it to sit up a little bit, just so their would be less chance of anything grabbing it when i was driving... i think its about an inche off the ground.... i will measure and take better shots of the front when i go back to the shop.
Wicked Mayhem Jan 08 2006, 03:24pm bad ass.. looking ****ing great! tuckin over half the rim.. sexy..
92rangerscraper Jan 08 2006, 03:26pm bad ass.. looking ****ing great! tuckin over half the rim.. sexy..

NeedsMoney Jan 10 2006, 09:23am So how far is it up off the ground? The yota cross member? Are u going to run a 5.0? or go with the old motor that was in it? Im putting a 5.0 in mine and im wondering if im going to hit my oil pan.
ghostranger04 Jan 10 2006, 12:49pm forget tucking rims...he almost laying fingers sitting in the cab...

No i havent been to the shop yet, you will not have a problem with the oil pan, but we are building new mounts and x-members anyways because we want to keep the stock hood, We have a 5.0ho 5-speed that we were going to use but as of right now i think instead i am going to run a V8 Flathead, you know, be the only one to ever do that swap should be cool. (the 5ltr HO that i have is forsale btw, wink wink)
forget tucking rims...he almost laying fingers sitting in the cab...
nice work
The only reason why i cant in that picture is because im short, the guy that im building with, matt, can touch the ground w/o a problem... its pretty amazing :yup:
NeedsMoney Jan 11 2006, 09:32am Thats kool man. I have the 5.0 that im wanting to run, im just trying to figure out if i could use the wiring harness off the same car. Just let me know when u get the measurement. Im probably going to take my block and oil pan over there and mock it in place.

DUB Offroad Edition Jan 16 2006, 10:51pm looks awesome man!!
blaze_tylr Jan 16 2006, 11:06pm Looks like some fun .I doin't know how i missed the thread ?
How mush more do you have to go on the truck -paint.-custom dash ?
92rangerscraper Jan 17 2006, 08:24am Your truck is truely amazing... A work of art. (All that custom stuff). Must be nice to have the skills to accomplish that.
Thank you... thats a totally awsome comment man, i appricate it. Yeah some people dont see all the truely custom stuff that is being done... its not easy throwing a toyota front frame, rx7 rear frame and chassis together, then make all the mounts for it all, make sure its straight 1,000 times over, and make it all work. Its not like there are too many v8 into bodydropped toy clipped rangers, so we had to do it all in the dark. You dont see very many one off rangers out there anymore, i wanna bring the fire back and stop the whole "lets build s-10's trend"
Looks like some fun .I doin't know how i missed the thread ?

Yeah i dont know how you missed it either :biggrinha
No its got HUGE plans in it... a ton more to go. You notice nothings left in the interior?... yeah im going all steel, real old school. Steel dash with Galaxie 500 cluster (see below). Solid billet steering colum, big old school wheel, HUGE shifter. Metal headliner, doors, back wall, etc etc. All shaved. Under dash batterie, and clutch/brake master cylinders.
Exterior will be a flatend black with red metal flake scallops, shaved everything, one off rear lights, suicide doors (of course). and one off headlights (maybe)... sitting pretty on 20 inch smoothies.
Suspension has a 3 3/4 stock floor BD custom chassis, and bags.... how the bags will be mounted is a surprize... you will have to wait.
Motor is going to be a fully rebuilt 5.0... t-5 tranny carbed. Smoothed firewall.
And plenty of other tricks under our sleves... i will keep updating so stay tuned. :king:

KC97RangerGT Jan 20 2006, 05:19pm wow.. I agree with the masses I'm in love. all the things I have dreamed up.. are you going to do a full write up on it.. I'm planning on going doors with the IRS and the yota FS.. it's going to be a little while until I do.. I'm off making my money to do all of it.. if you do a write up on it and you have the free time to shoot me an e-mail about it I'd greatly appreciate it..
Thanks alot..

yobrigidey Jan 24 2006, 12:39pm Wow, very, VERY nice! I gotta say all the custom work your showing is inspiring at the least... cant wait to see what you have hidden up your sleeve for the front bags
92rangerscraper Jan 24 2006, 09:57pm cant wait to see what you have hidden up your sleeve for the front bags
Yeah that is going to be the show stopper about this truck... you wait!!
blaze_tylr Jan 24 2006, 10:57pm Since you did all that custom stuff and keep doing more you never thought about doing a front end coversion ?
92rangerscraper Jan 25 2006, 06:12am Since you did all that custom stuff and keep doing more you never thought about doing a front end coversion ?
no.... why change the classic look of the 2nd gen ranger?... The only thing i would do is a range rover clip... but that style clip will not match with the style the truck will be... we thought of one offing a set of headlights... but i still didnt want to loose that "ohh **** check out that ranger" :leghump: effect... sometimes having a truck not look like its origional gets old... i want to see more old school rangers out there... so i plan on keeping that style.

I was going to have the spot for the exhuast to come threw. im going to be using the square tubing all the way though. But i do like how u did the round on the ends! pretty sweet man! Keep the pics coming! what is that 3"?
Brandon Miller Jan 25 2006, 10:11pm cool looking tranny member but one question. im assuming the exhaust will go through the crossmember, but what happens if you have to drop your tranny? remove the entire exhaust?
badblackranger Jan 25 2006, 10:19pm It looks amazing. I wish i had the time and money to have done all that when i bd'ed mine. Congrats it looks incredible. Keep it up!
Ranger72 Jan 25 2006, 10:24pm cool looking tranny member but one question. im assuming the exhaust will go through the crossmember, but what happens if you have to drop your tranny? remove the entire exhaust?
A good idea would be to put a seperate piece throug the member with a clamp on each side.
92rangerscraper Jan 26 2006, 07:38am what is that 3"?
If you are refering to the pipe in the x-member then yes it is 3 inch tube
cool looking tranny member but one question. im assuming the exhaust will go through the crossmember, but what happens if you have to drop your tranny? remove the entire exhaust?
Well i dont plan on dropping the tranny seeing as she wont be daily driven. But incase that IS the case then yes, i would have to un-bolt it from the headers, take the pipes off the hangers and drop it with the x-member. The exaust will not go all the way to the rear.. infact the mufflers will be just behind that x-member you see there. But that is the kind of stuff you have to give up to get more ground clearence and keep exaust at the same time... :thumbsdow

Well since you're not doing a full exhaust then it wouldn't be that bad.

gonna be sweet!
tino64 Jan 29 2006, 11:00pm i love the rims man, trucks looking sweet. and as a welder by trade, you can definatly lay down a weld. my concern is on your cantilever tubing, looks to me like it could use a gusset between the two angles, but i,m no engineer. keep the progress rolling, this is better than watching midget wrestling, ok maybe not, but close.
92rangerscraper Jan 30 2006, 06:41am i love the rims man, trucks looking sweet. and as a welder by trade, you can definatly lay down a weld. my concern is on your cantilever tubing, looks to me like it could use a gusset between the two angles, but i,m no engineer. keep the progress rolling, this is better than watching midget wrestling, ok maybe not, but close.
Yeah it doesnt NEED bracing per say because it is 2x2 and its beefy as hell, but yeah we were planing on doing another angle conecting the V and to match the other angles that that rear has (see a pattern?)
But i havent decided on the style it will have (since it is one of the main parts that will be focused on by enthusiasts and i should give them something styleish to look at) so untill then it will stay how it is till i can scroung up something cool to do to it. Im thinking something with spikes.
CMEDROP Jan 30 2006, 03:26pm definately an awesome build.
i have the same guage cluster but its in my galaxie ;)
Lil Ra Ra Jan 31 2006, 12:06am I ... want.. thos .. wheels... those are sooo $&%&#$* sexy!:o: :hail: :idhitit: :headbang:
92rangerscraper Jan 31 2006, 07:51am Ordered the twanks last night... i had to have them custom cut them though.. they were origionaly 20x8.5 that would have been a little too wide so they are going to custom cut it to 8 inches wide.. should be here in 3 weeks
YAY!
Dragginbalz Jan 31 2006, 06:42pm looks good
how do you achieve that weld bead appearance?
t
92rangerscraper Jan 31 2006, 08:59pm Matt was teaching me that you need to do it in a circular motion, let it build up just a little bit and do like half moon/ circular motions, Matt does lay down some nasty beads.. but he does it for a living working for the state.
spdbumphatnrang Jan 31 2006, 09:24pm very sweet work bro!i had the same idea about the 3" pipe in the x-member.so the big question is where the hell is all this money coming from????I was looking at some of those smothies, there not cheap!if there all billet.but again great job dude!

AcidRanger Feb 14 2006, 12:05am hey rangerscraper, can you find out how much a full one off chassis would run ruff estimates. Im looking for the bodydrop on my truck, but with work im never gonna get the time, and 1 hour everynights not gonna get me anywhere. Need to get some info and worst case drive to pick it up if its a decent price. I'd rather build it myself but hey what can you do. Like i said just esitmates.

So now i am forced to eat some cost and sell... If only i didnt **** with all the suspension it would fit, but i was being real stupid when i ordered them... i guess you have to pay to play.
NeedsMoney Mar 28 2006, 08:44am Wow, i did the same thing. Did they work in the front? Cuz im going to be using the YOTA front too. I wonder if my wheels will work now?? Please tell me they will work in front...
