Can the mustang front calipers/disks/pads and such be swapped onto the ranger with a few modifications? Or is it one of those this question gets asked every week and the answer is "i hope you carry bill gates in your poket" kinda job?
thanks

No, unfortunatly the parts from a mustang wont fit, so you cant do any kind of an upgrade.

Not true Adam, Mustang brakes will work on the Rangers. You just got to know the trick to do it. I'm still working on that.

It'll work it's just gonna take some machine work and R&D to get it done right. Don't worry though as soon as it gets done to the B2, everyone here will be there first to know.

Heres a good article on standard vs slotted vs crossdrilled vs etc rotors:
Those Poor Rotors (http://uinus.pair.com/teamscr/rotors.htm)
My own experience runs contrary to what that article states, with the exception of the cracking brake pads. My first set with these rotors, a brand I'd never used before, were cracking when I replaced them about a month ago (I'll know in about 6-8 months if it was specific to that brand or not). On my rotors, the holes are countersunk, so the "cheesegrater" effect they refer to *shouldn't* happen. The other points in that article are the exact opposite of what I've seen - with stock rotors I would have big problems with brake fade after hard use. I have NO problems with fade now. It would have been nice if they'd qualified their findings with info on vehicle type, usage, etc.
They ARE correct that larger rotors don't provide more stopping power. However, larger rotors are typically coupled with larger pads and calipers, which DO increase braking force.
