Another issue that just started, my drivers side front brake system seems to be clunking...
When I am in normal breaking conditions (not just heavy breaking) and begin a turn, I hear a CLUNK come from the drivers side front wheel. The wheel is on nice and tight, I think that the brake might be acting up or something. I will try to take the wheel off next week and check it out (not driving it this week since I am out of town).

any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

Sounds like a ball joint. IF it didnt do it while turning, then yea, I could suggest brakes, but if it does it while turning as well as braking, then its not the brakes.

Have you recently changed the pads? Because that bracket that holds the caliper tends to get loose causing a clunk sound under breaking. Thats what happened to be a few months ago, it would make a clunk when i would step on the pedal, and if I kinda tapped them quick it would clunk.. and I could feel it in the pedal/floor. I just truned the wheel as far as it would go and crawed under there and tightened them up. May not be your problem but thats what mine was.

Also look at your springs. I had the same problem a tech apparently put the spring back incorrectly when I had my shocks replaced. Dont know how that happend but they reseated one and it went away. The problem then developed on the passenger side and we found out that before I owned it was in a front end accident and they replaced the front springs.

One from a 97 and one from a 94, there was a half inch difference between them.
