i've got a ranger with a 2.3 turbo now. i'm thinking about picking up another ranger and doing a turbo 5.0. my question is, if i use the t-3 off my current project, how effective would one t-3 be on one of these motors? and what kind of power and boost levels could i be expecting to run? i did a search, but didn't turn up quite what i was looking for, so any help or advice from you guys would be great.
thanks,
Josh

A single T3 on a 5.0.... try running a marathon breathing through a MickeyD's straw. :)
Basically, yes you can do that. Effective, no.
Even a t4 is really limiting on a stock 5.0.

turbomustangs.com would likely be a better place to check.

what do you run for internals? what boost do you run, and what kind of power does it make?

stock 95 shortblock (came with forged pistons that year). running 7-8 on street with pump gas and up to 12-14 on race gas at the track. no dyno but id say around 380-500+ depending on boost/gas.

not bad at all. do you advance the timing when you run race fuel?

i'm in the same boat, i've got a built 2.3 and a built c4 but neither are installed yet, i'm half bitten by the V8 bug, but its gonna have to be boosted to hold a candle to my current setup
hell my "stock" 2.3T mustang is making more power than half the guys that posted on the V8 ranger power/times board

forged pistons stopped in 93, 94 -95 were brittle cast pistons, so take it easy with the boost

forged pistons and rings only cost $300
