Is there any way to change the timing on my 92 2.3?I,m just racing this and need some more advance. Will unhooking the vaccaum line to the fuel regulator increase the fuel pressure to the injectors?

The only way i know how to advance timing it to buy a cam sprocket. The 2.3 has it's timing computer controlled. Racer walsh has them www.racerwalsh.com

You can change the cam timing with a sprocket, but the only way to change ignition timing is to get a chip. FWIW, that's why chips usually require high octane gas - they advance the timing.

Unhooking the vacuum line will actually decrease rail pressure at speed...you do not want to do that.

Hey jeff, what is the difference between the cam timing and the ignition timing, I never knew the were different?

Short answer is that cam timing adjusts when the valves open and close, and ignition timing adjusts when the spark plugs fire.
