G.A. Heath May 31 2006, 04:26pm There are two types of solutions for putting a super charger on a carbed engine. The first is to run a BDS style blower that sits between the carb and the intake and pulls air through the carb. this just requires a larger carber. The second solution, this works for turbo applications also, is to run a blow through carb and a carb hat that is sealed and is fed by the blower. You can fabricate these yourself (if you are good), or buy them off of ebay. pinellas50 May 31 2006, 09:15pm There are two types of solutions for putting a super charger on a carbed engine. Actually, I think they have an article on the BDS/roots style blower also. Warren Jun 01 2006, 01:51am thanks pinellas50 Jun 01 2006, 05:08am Hey, this was the first new post since the new sub section went in! Cool! CAPTAIN Jun 01 2006, 12:09pm If I wasn't such a nitrous junkie, I'd put a Procharger centrifugal blower on my truck. The blow through design of a carbed smallblock fed by a big Procharger is just bad a$$. On a side note, the carb for a blowthrough setup will be signifigantly lower cfm than normal. Warren Jun 10 2006, 12:17am thanks guys, i got that copy of maustangs and fast fords. nice article. it really helped me out alot. so i think im going for a paxton. ill call them monday to find out more details and such. do you guys think ill have issues since my engine is from an '80 continental and not an '85 stang? |
