JP3 is appropriate....I'm James, wifey is Julie and son is Jake...

Turbo truck update....

Can't seem to shake the fuel starvation on top end. This sucker pulls like a mutha but coughs and sputters (and detonates!) at 5k rpm. Fuel pressure dropping is most likely the culprit. If I can just get it running clean, she'd be pretty fast. I turned out of Lowe's the other day and as soon as the boost came up, the back tires let go.....what a ride. I am hitting about 10-12 psi with no engine related failures. Actually no failures at all. Not even the A4LD! I did mess with the boost controller the other day and had the boost set WAAAAAY too high! She went to something like 17 psi before I caught it! Checked the plugs and they still look perfect, so i imagine everything is still OK inside there. Oh well gotta go.

Boy, I was beginning to wonder where you had gone to. Now that your back, all we have to do is wait for Joel. He has yet to make an appearance here on the new boards.

Sounds like your makin progress. What did you do to get the boost to jump so high? Change the setting on the wastegate? Bout how long did it run at 17 psi before you let of?

if you think that an adj fuel pressure regulator would help I have the specs along with the completed setup to bolt a 5.o adj regulator to the 2.9.

I don't think an adj reg will help my situation. A high volume pump & rising rate reg will though. It'll rev hard, lose power, go lean & detonate until I back off. When I get a chance I'm gonna check the filters to make sure they are not giving any problems also.

It was at 17 psi for about 2-3 seconds. Enough to scare the bejeebers outta me. The check ball in the boost controller got stuck, allowing the wastegate to never open = high boost in a hurry!
