I've got a '97 Mazda B2300 and was wondering if the limited "performance" items available for the Rangers are compatible with the Mazdas.

I'm just lookin at things like a new chip or exhaust setup, basic bolt-on parts to add cheap thrills.

As much as I have heard "That mazda is just another ford" it surprises me that the aftermarket manufacturers can't give a straight answer when asked about compatibility of "ford" parts on "mazda" engines.
I'm sure they're just covering their butts, imagine the liability there!.. but has anyone bitten the bullet and tried it? :)

As of 1994 any Ranger performance part will fit on the motor or chasis of a corresponding size and year Mazda. The only difference is in the body panels (ie. fenders, grill, etc,) This causes some mods that deal more with appearance such as grills and lenses not to fit.

Put it this way, when I look for performance parts I only look for Ford Rangers... Under the hood there is no change, not that I've seen anyways!!!

Again, things light taillights, though they would fit from a Ranger but the style is a bit different...

I really don't think the tail lights or head lights would fit from ranger to mazda, neither are the bumbers, but know one thing for sure that the mazdas are more curvy than rangers, and almost all the engine and suspension parts are exact the same.

Like Charlie said, since 94 ALL chassis, driveline and electronic components are identical to Rangers. Only the trim items and body parts are different, and even then some things like tailight lenses are interchangeable.

Factory graphics are very high. I've heard of just the factory pinstripes for Rangers costing $200-$300 from Ford! I'm not sure as I haven't checked on them myself, but I've heard that more than once from some body shop guys around here.

From recent experience with my 94 mazda b4000, the ranger taillights and the mazda taillights are EXACTLY the same shape, size, and length. Euro lenses and clear lenses fit exactly because i recently purchased ranger lenses. Headlight lenses do not fit though, but i think mazda has a better looking front end anyway. What do you all think? shout me a holla!

Are you 100% sure about this? We've had this discussion in the past and we've all come to the conclusion that they are NOT the same. (see this image)

The black truck is the tail of my Mazda (which has the same tail light as your 94) and the other truck is a Ranger but the picture has been flipped to compare the images.

Don't get me wrong man, I'm not calling you a liar or nothing. Do you have any pics? I'd love for this to be true since I'm in search for chrome tubular tail light guards. For a true Mazda application, I can only find black.

When i said that ford and mazda taillights are the same, i didnt exactly mean look. I know one looks flipped from the other, but as far as blacklight covers and euro lenses, they fit both. At least they did for my truck, because i had to purchase euro's for my truck by ford. I've seen the cromed taillight guards you are talking about, they should fit your mazda.. have you tried this? because they look the same shape... because i had to measure both ranger and mazda and they came out alike to 11.5 inches long by 7 inches wide i believe.. if not, a little tweeking should work. holla!
