I am trying to remove the rear hub on my 2001 Ranger 4x4 (4.0)and dont know what to do. I thought there would just be a retaining bolt, but there isnt any bolt holding the hub on...The reason I am trying to get it off is I can barely spin my tires when its jacked up and its not my brakes rubbing on the drums...I figured I could regrease all the bearings/shafts to hopefully save myself some gas $$$...Does anyone know how to remove the rear hub or have any other suggestions on how to fix these tires that barely spin. I was told that it may not be called the hub by another member...I would call it the rear rotor that I am trying to remove...Basically I think I need to pull the axel out however I can do that and regrease it all to allow it to spin freely?

Well you called them drums and rotors in the same post....do you know which you have for sure? Does the rear braking system look anything like the front? You can just look through the wheels to tell.

To me it sounds like some drums that need to be turned, brakes adjusted and replaced. Pulling the axles aint where you should be looking.
