View Full Version : tank and compressor location? nitemare_ranger Jan 03 2007, 05:20pm has anyone ever put this stuff in the cab? got any pics? mafiaman8402 Jan 03 2007, 05:25pm loud as **** and god forbid there's an air leak or blow out, expect to loose your hearing. I wouldn't recommend it... nitemare_ranger Jan 03 2007, 05:31pm i thought so but it never hurts to ask. bdpaco Jan 03 2007, 05:31pm you could possibly get away with the tank in the cab, but compressors are way to loud to be in a cab... slammedxonair Jan 03 2007, 05:43pm there not that loud lol i have em in my explorer and my ranger explorer u cant really hear em but the radio drowns out the comps u just cant have it on and be on the cell its kinda iratating then lol. my check valves freeze on the comps so i have to be able to warm them up before the air will flow. MacDaddy Jan 03 2007, 06:15pm wow, tank in the cab, never heard of that one heh. under the bed between the rear frame rails.. spare tire FTW!!!!! fck Jan 03 2007, 08:24pm buddy of mine in charelston has air in his passat wagon, everything inside... not too loud in there! :jamming: Tuckin Eh Jan 03 2007, 08:29pm could always build an enclosure for them and use some sort of sound deadening if it's that much of an issue. not for me tho. BlauSplash Jan 03 2007, 08:37pm So If you sealed it up in an ecloseure you would need some fresh air fans and exhaust fans for the heat off the compressor. By the way what the hell is "FTW"?? tehzack Jan 03 2007, 08:44pm For The Win. Smorrison1 Jan 03 2007, 09:17pm So If you sealed it up in an ecloseure you would need some fresh air fans and exhaust fans for the heat off the compressor. yep, this is how ive seen many a blazer. Kurtis M Jan 03 2007, 09:51pm It's so much more fun when everyone else hear's the PSHHHHH and then turns their heads to see what is passing them up. Soeffinblack Jan 04 2007, 12:09pm I have my 12 gallon and all my valves in my ext cab including the valve silencers and water/oil seperator. I'll show pics when I get a camera around probbably later tonight. But yeah i am also going to be running an edc and I honestly never thought about having a blow out how often does this happen?I've never had airline slip out on me UNLESS if I hit and break one of the fittings then it will blow out and be loud as **** but otehr than that I've never even heard of the problem happening. But yeah more pics tonight nitemare_ranger Jan 04 2007, 12:19pm yes please pics... msturg Jan 04 2007, 01:05pm I agree with everyone else, you can get away with the tank, but I would recommend the compressor outside the cab. They are pretty damn annoying, so not having to hear it as much is always nice. You can put your valves inside though with no problem, we put all of the stuff inside my buddies grand prix. We mounted his valves for the front under the carpet on the floor up front. It's kind of funny watching the carpet pop up whenever he dumps the bags, lol. moneyhungry Jan 04 2007, 03:01pm had my tank and compressor in the trunk part of a 92 GMC Jimmy and it was loud as f*ck!!! dont do it unless you have no where else to put it, in my opinion. slammedxonair Jan 04 2007, 07:27pm run ur valves outside at least to dump Soeffinblack Jan 05 2007, 12:42am yeah the way I have mine set up I have the silencers pointing down but I might actually take them off and just run line through the floor comming out of my dumps since the dumps are facing down, just make sure if you do this to use grommets so you dont get bad leaks of water in your floor and cause massive problems and when you go to put them in go about putting them in from under the truck and save yourself some work rathe than putting the grommets in near the carpet it just gets in the way. PICS SOON haha and brian your manual valves in your black ranger actually made my ears ring the first time I ever came to your house haha I wonder if my tank exploded somthing off of it if the pressure in the cab of my truck would **** with me or my ears.
